I was wondering if anyone else has this dynamic. Other than my Dad (who is far-right)... everyone in my family seems to be far-left. I have a small family, but they are involved in moveon.org and environmental extremist groups.
Im rather upset... I just found out my Cousin (who is in the film industry) is in Iran for some film festival, and is even wearing a burqa, and she emailed me saying she has no problem with this.
-
Thankfully my family is for the most part conservative. My sister seems to agree with whoever she's around at the time though, like if she hangs out with liberals she's a liberal and if she hangs out with conservatives she's conservative.

My mother was always a democrat, my father always a far-right republican.
Over time my mother has learned that the democrat party is not doing what is is supposed to. She did not vote for Obama. I am so proud of her because in her social group everyone was voting for Obama. I have a feeling my entire family will be republicans in a few months because of the failure in the white house.

I really thought some of my family would come around this year.. but they didnt. Its really part of their culture.

My mom was very much influenced by his name... BARUK HUSSEIN OSAMA... Since my brother, her second son, was a victim on 9/11 and Osama was the mastermind, my mother was unable to vote for the masked muslim. My mother is convinced he is a closet muslim.

Thankfully, my parents were Republicans. My father would have been a natural fit for JTF. Politically, he was very Conservative. Among many similarities with Chaim's viewpoints, my father had a very high opinion of Jesse Helms. He regularly supported Senator Helms' Senate election campaigns. Also, like the vast majority, if not all JTF members, my Dad absolutely detested Ted Kennedy.

Unfortunately my immediate family had voted for Obama making me the only one who voted for McCain. I hope they will see the failures of the Obama administration and vote differently next time

My mother of blessed memory was a Leftist. She lived on kibbutz and her parents were socialists. She was a very intelligent woman however, and gradually began to see the flaws of her positions. Had she lived a couple of years longer, she would have been as right wing as I am.
My brother is like me. My father doesn't think much about politics. My two cousins are fanatical Leftists. It drives me crazy. They are girls, aged 23 and 21, so I have some hope for them still. What nonsense they speak all the time!
-
My family is left wing too. It is a shame that they are not very zionistic because it will only make it harder for me to ever move to Israel. They would never support that. I only became extremely right wing after seeing Chaim on QPTV in queens when I was 16. I would certainly be a leftist if not for Chaim so I am forever grateful to him for showing me the truth.
-
My parents are apolitical. They've never ever voted. And they frown on me blogging, or getting involved in anything political. But, they're socially and morally conservative.

Are they concerned that you could be hurt by people that disagree with you, or do they just not like your being political?
-
Most people in my family are right wing, but I don't know what they would think of JTF or the Kahanist movement.

My family isn't left wing, but I did become much right when I started watching JTF on qptv. I liked it when JTF was on tuesdays and Thursdays then for some reason they had to change their time slots every 6months

My family is pretty mixed..
-
My dads family whom is Jewish is primarily leftist unfortunately, my moms family who is German is right wing and republican except for one aunt (she has 7 sister), I don't understand it at all.
I'm not sure what my dad was politically, he was a gun nut and he hated Clinton, but he didn't exactly like most republicans either. I'm not really sure what his positions were. He didn't trust police or any authority but he certainly wasn't an anarchist or a liberal by any means.

They say you can choose your friends but not your family. My former family is composed of nothing but suicidal, sicko leftists. I, therefore, no longer have a family. I haven't seen them in many years and I hope I never see them again.

Wow... my condolences. That sounds pretty serious.

I would say they're concerned about me being hurt by people that disagree with me. Plus, they think my time would be better spent either finding a husband, or getting a better paying job. They don't understand the point of me blogging at all.

This is very sad.
I have a brother whom I love dearly, but I can't bear being around him because of our differing political views and the fights we always have because of them.
I can't say I hope I never see him again, but I do avoid contact with him because of our differences.
Makes me really sad.

Hopefully if you want to, you can do all three. Plus I think it's important to take a stand, just be as safe as you can about it.

Most of my family is right wing except for my aunt who voted for Obama.
We have a couple far right wing people who are a little nuts

All the Jews in my family are Republicans. My sister in law is Jewish too, she is to the far left and she voted for Obama.
My sister in laws family are also Liberals Jews who live in Maryland. When we all get together we argue about Politics,
sometimes we even get loud, we have dessert, hug each other goodbye and the political arguments are forgotten until next time.

Both sides of my family are pretty far right and righteous. Only a few of my mom's and dad's cousin's fall somewhere in the middle, I don't believe they are really evil or want bad intentions, just misguided on their political views. They also are religious while some not so much, but make an attempt to be.

My Father is a lifelong member of the JDL a lifelong gun owner he has supported both Democrats and Republicans. He has voted only for Democrats for President since 1976 with the exception of 2000. My mother has never voted for a Republican. My Brother and Aunt are Liberal. Don't know where it comes from.

I will repeat my plea that everyone maintain good relation with their father and their mother. It is an important mitzvah which really stresses every single person born into the world. When I was growing up I had many problems with my parents and yet I am now very close to both my father and my mother. I have been able to bring them back to religion. It feels good to be on good relations with your parents even when there are still issues.
-
My parents are politicly rigtwingers although my mother is more socialy "liberal" than my father. Thanks G-d not "far right wing people who are a little nuts" types.
-
I was left wing myself (more of a conservative democrat) about 10 years ago. The only thing I'm still a bit soft on is the environment but not in a global warming crazy way. I had an Indian friend who I talked with and he was very conservative and introduced me to right wing radio. I was hooked and once the 2000 election happened I started to turn. The Muzzie "intifada" of 2000 and the USS Cole got me very riled up against the left and 9-11 was the final straw. I had to end friendships with people who said that WW2 was America's fault or women who were bisexual. I couldn't deal with them anymore. I still have friends who are to the left but I never talk politics and they are conservative on Israel and black crime. They changed their views on those things over the years too. I have a very small family now but they are 100% right wing and turned from liberal Republicans to strong conservatives and are thinking of leaving the USA because of Obama.
-
Where would they go if they left the USA? I wouldn't know where to run to.
-

Probably Oz, NZ or Chile.

I think you have to have some kind of special skills to go to Australia or New Zealand, and I think they're also suffering immigration problems, at least Australia is.
I'm not sure about Chile because I'd have to learn a new language to live there and I'm not sure if I could fit into that kind of culture because it'd be so different from American culture.

I would say Australia is by FAR the best option... since the culture is similar. YES... they have an immigration problem as well... but thats impossible to get away from.... and the Muslim population is definitely growing.
New Zealand is nice as well... but the Maori population is MUCH larger than the Austro-Aboriginal population as a percentage. But the Maoris are more tolerable people than the Abos... but there are 10x as many of them.
Chile is by far the best in terms of its economy in S. America... but again... the language. Argentina and Uruguay are the 'whitest' but they are ALSO suffering from immigration.

I thought Australia was more far-left than the USA though. Would we really be running away from anything?

I'm staying and Fighting

My family is mixes. My grandpa was a bit left I think and my parents are right! They hate Turks. I hate Turks too. My dad is more right than my mom. I am more right than my dad ;D
I am a radical Zionist! And I am damn proud of it!
-
Actually i'm the least Conservative in my family. The rest of my family lost all trust in the Govt want nothing to do with them
-
My family..or for the most part, my parents are right wing and agree with most of the Kahanist message...even though they aren't activists. My wife's family are middle of the road, but generally right wingish with some left wing leanings genearally find with most Israeli Jews.

Their PM is now a lefty.. BUT their parliament is right enough that they blocked an attempt at a stimulus package. (which was 1/30th the size of ours)

Hah, ever heard of the Cronulla Riots? This was after an Australian girl was raped by a muzzie:

They were thinking Australia. New Zealand has Muslim immigration too but there is no real movement to stop it there. Australia seems to be somewhat resistant to it all. Also, I have relatives in Australia so it would be easier. The way things are going, maybe the Pitcairn Islands or Jarvis Island.
If Alaska got independence, I'd think about it.
-
Australia and Canada seem to be the closest countries to America as far as culture and language goes. I know Canada is super socialist though. I didn't know if Australia was outright socialist or not.
I would rather stay in the USA and fight if at all possible though.

Rubystars, did you check out the link I posted?

Yes I think it's good if white Australians are standing up for their rights and fighting back against Muslims, but the video was set to Skrewdriver music so it made me wonder just who composed that crowd.

My mother is mostly a real liberal and my father was involved his whole life in the worker union, althrough he became very sucessfull in his company. He went to strike as only one of the management level. I think he acts on conviction.
The thing that mostly astonishes me is, that the executives of his company offered him to work after his pension continuing althrough of his worker union activities. He must have been very good in his job as electrotechnology engeneer.
Now he is seventy and finally retired.

My immediate family consists of moderate Republicans and conservative Democrats who were fiercely anti-Obama during the election. Unfortunately, they appear to be completely won over by him now. >:(

My whole family is far- right. The only bad thing is that my aunt is pro-choice for rape victims.

The woman was raped

Well it depends on how you look at it. On one hand the women went throw a tradgedy and is forced to go through pregnacy and push out a baby that traumitized her, but on the other hand Murder is murder, and if a women really wants to do right by God, than she will endure the pregnancy and put the child up for adoption. Let me make a poll.

Why should rape victims suffer that abuse? If I had a daughter and she was raped, I'd be very angry, and in the case that it is a teenager or a minor, it endangers their life.

I agree with you about abortion for a rape victim, but I don't know about birth endangering a teen. Go into a Mexican neighborhood, teens are popping them out like it's their job.

A baby shouldn't be aborted if it doesn't have to be.
-

It's not the baby's fault. I notice that most of the "pro-choicers" who are screaming that we need abortions for rape victims are the very first people who say we should be "rehabilitating" rapists and murderers and oppose the death penalty. These feminazi freaks should all have their clitorises hacked off just like is done in nations ruled by their favorite religion.
-
It's a mixed batch with my family.
-
I am a liberal myself, with a leaning towards pacifism !
I even used to belong politically to the left for 'piratical' reasons as well as because I was born to a family of 'real-politc' leftists.

CF, I am sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how this must upset you. I will assume you are one of the strongest minded members in your family.
Keep up your good fight, even if they accepted him, make it known to them you refuse to accept him.

there is nothing unreasonable about that (about wanting an abortion as a result of rape)
-
If I was raped, I wouldn't want to be forced to carry that rapist's child. And for the record, I think that rapists should be put to death, or physically castrated.

That's what Plan B is for, to prevent a pregnancy. I think emergency contraception has been around for a while now.
Once a pregnancy starts I think it's wrong to stop it.
Rape victims should go to a hospital anyway to get evidence to use against their attacker so they may as well take the emergency contraception then to prevent pregnancy from occurring.
-
(snip) I don't know about birth endangering a teen. Go into a Mexican neighborhood, teens are popping them out like it's their job.
Well there are teen-agers and there are teen-agers.
Some girls are physically ready to have a baby at very young age. Others are not physically ready for childbearing until later on in their life, after their body develops. Some women are forever unable to have a baby.
