Does anyone else here have a mostly far-left family?
« on: February 24, 2009, 07:03:23 PM »
I was wondering if anyone else has this dynamic.  Other than my Dad (who is far-right)... everyone in my family seems to be far-left.   I have a small family, but they are involved in moveon.org and environmental extremist groups.

Im rather upset... I just found out my Cousin (who is in the film industry) is in Iran for some film festival, and is even wearing a burqa, and she emailed me saying she has no problem with this.

Thankfully my family is for the most part conservative. My sister seems to agree with whoever she's around at the time though, like if she hangs out with liberals she's a liberal and if she hangs out with conservatives she's conservative.

My mother was always a democrat, my father always a far-right republican.

Over time my mother has learned that the democrat party is not doing what is is supposed to. She did not vote for Obama. I am so proud of her because in her social group everyone was voting for Obama. I have a feeling my entire family will be republicans in a few months because of the failure in the white house.

My mom was very much influenced by his name... BARUK HUSSEIN OSAMA... Since my brother, her second son, was a victim on 9/11 and Osama was the mastermind, my mother was unable to vote for the masked muslim. My mother is convinced he is a closet muslim.

Thankfully,   my parents were Republicans.        My father would have been a natural fit for JTF.      Politically,   he was very Conservative.      Among many similarities with Chaim's viewpoints,   my father had a very high opinion of Jesse Helms.     He regularly supported Senator Helms'  Senate election campaigns.      Also,   like the vast majority,  if not all JTF members,   my Dad absolutely detested Ted Kennedy.
"Israel's leaders seem to be more afraid of Obama than they are of G-d. Now we're getting to the real root of the problem. Secular politics won't save Israel. Denying the divine nature of the Jewish State has brought Israel neither stability nor peace. When that changes Israel will finally be blessed with both in abundance"-----------NormanF   ( Posted on Israel Matzav's Blog )

Unfortunately my immediate family had voted for Obama making me the only one who voted for McCain.  I hope  they will see the failures of the Obama administration and vote differently next time

My mother of blessed memory was a Leftist.  She lived on kibbutz and her parents were socialists.  She was a very intelligent woman however, and gradually began to see the flaws of her positions.  Had she lived a couple of years longer, she would have been as right wing as I am.

My brother is like me.  My father doesn't think much about politics.  My two cousins are fanatical Leftists.  It drives me crazy.  They are girls, aged 23 and 21, so I have some hope for them still.  What nonsense they speak all the time!

My family is left wing too. It is a shame that they are not very zionistic because it will only make it harder for me to ever move to Israel. They would never support that. I only became extremely right wing after seeing Chaim on QPTV in queens when I was 16. I would certainly be a leftist if not for Chaim so I am forever grateful to him for showing me the truth.

My parents are apolitical.  They've never ever voted.  And they frown on me blogging, or getting involved in anything political.  But, they're socially and morally conservative.

Are they concerned that you could be hurt by people that disagree with you, or do they just not like your being political?

Most people in my family are right wing, but I don't know what they would think of JTF or the Kahanist movement.

My family isn't left wing, but I did become much right when I started watching JTF on qptv. I liked it when JTF was on tuesdays and Thursdays then for some reason they had to change their time slots every 6months

My dads family whom is Jewish is primarily leftist unfortunately, my moms family who is German is right wing and republican except for one aunt (she has 7 sister), I don't understand it at all.

I'm not sure what my dad was politically, he was a gun nut and he hated Clinton, but he didn't exactly like most republicans either. I'm not really sure what his positions were. He didn't trust police or any authority but he certainly wasn't an anarchist or a liberal by any means.

They say you can choose your friends but not your family. My former family is composed of nothing but suicidal, sicko leftists. I, therefore, no longer have a family. I haven't seen them in many years and I hope I never see them again.

I would say they're concerned about me being hurt by people that disagree with me.  Plus, they think my time would be better spent either finding a husband, or getting a better paying job.  They don't understand the point of me blogging at all.

This is very sad.

I have a brother whom I love dearly, but I can't bear being around him because of our differing political views and the fights we always have because of them.

I can't say I hope I never see him again, but I do avoid contact with him because of our differences.

Makes me really sad.

Hopefully if you want to, you can do all three. Plus I think it's important to take a stand, just be as safe as you can about it.

All the Jews in my family are Republicans. My sister in law is Jewish too, she is to the far left and she voted for Obama.
My sister in laws family are also Liberals Jews who live in Maryland. When we all get together we argue about Politics,
sometimes we even get loud, we have dessert, hug each other goodbye and the political arguments are forgotten until next time.

Both sides of my family are pretty far right and righteous. Only a few of my mom's and dad's cousin's fall somewhere in the middle, I don't believe they are really evil or want bad intentions, just misguided on their political views. They also are religious while some not so much, but make an attempt to be.
