Swastika: Symbol of the Sun, Not Nazi Terror?
Sivan 10, 5770, 23 May 10 07:34
by Hana Levi Julian

(Israelnationalnews.com) The Nazi swastika is apparently not considered illegal in the Lithuanian city of Klaipeda, despite former assumptions that the symbol was not to be displayed nationwide, a common legislative ruling in Eastern Europe.

A local court has ruled the sign is a centuries-old symbol that depicts the sun. The judge in the case, which lasted three months, justified his ruling by adding that the symbol is found on numerous historic artifacts.

The case involved four men who brandished swastikas at the city's national Independence Day parade.

“It is not a Nazi attribute, but a valuable symbol of the Baltic culture, an ancient sign of our ancestors, which had been stolen from them and treacherously used by other peoples,” said one of the witnesses for the defense quoted by RT, Russian television's English news channel.

According to the IA Regnum news agency, swastikas have been displayed at least twice before in Lithuania, both times without legal consequence – once on May Day, and the second time in front of the presidential palace in Vilna (Vilnius), the nation's capital.

Two years ago, on Lithuanian Independence Day, neo-Nazis marched down Vilna's central boulevard waving specially modified Lithuanian swastikas, and chanting “Juden raus!” (Jews out!”). This year, the slogan was “Lithuania for Lithuanians!”

Not one politician raised an eyebrow until a week later, when Norwegian Ambassador Steinar Gil pointed out that the Lithuanian parliament had protested a parade for homosexual rights, but had not objected to neo-Nazis. Lithuanian Prime Minister Adrius Kubilius replied five days later, according to Tablet Magazine, saying, “There are skinheads and neo-Nazis in every country, and they sometimes take a walk or chant something.”

Efraim Zuroff, Israel director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its chief Nazi hunter, noted that “Lithuanian judges are again showing bias in favor of Holocaust perpetrators rather than victims,” and called on the Lithuanian courts to “overturn this outrageous and contemptible decision as quickly as possible.”

Local Efforts to Whitewash the Past

Lithuania has also been working to wipe out its Nazi Holocaust past.

According to the report published earlier this month in The Tablet, the Museum of Genocide Victims on Vilna's central boulevard “glosses over events at a place called Ponar in Yiddish” – 100,000 innocents were murdered mostly by local Lithuanian militiamen there. Seventy percent of the victims were Jews.

The report notes that Lithuania's Holocaust museum is “devoted entirely to Soviet crimes” and a concerted effort is being exerted to equate Soviet-sponsored warfare against the Nazis, and subsequent Soviet-sponsored warfare against others, with the Nazi genocide, in the theory known as “double genocide”. With that, Lithuanian authorities are slowly dimming the use of the words “Nazi Holocaust” in historic literature.

Perhaps the best example of how Lithuania views the Nazi atrocities is found in a recent exhibit on a famine in the Ukraine that featured a huge poster of a woman telling viewers, “In Auschwitz we were given some spinach and a little bread. War is terrible, but famine is even worse.”
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

Didn't Latvia and Lithuania really go for the Waffen-SS?

Swastika was a original Hindu symbol, which later migrated to Central Asia and East Europe.

However Nazis using that symbol should be hanged on the spot.

I thought the swastika was a Hindu symbol.

It's not only a Hindu symbol. Almost every ancient culture had its own swastika. It independently arose in separate cultures around the world.

It's true that it stands for a sun wheel, but this does not get it off the hook. The sun wheel is a sign of evil pagan religions of old Europe that committed human sacrifice among other evils. There are other variations of the sun wheel too, like the celtic "cross" (plus sign with a circle around it). Hitler, a real pagan, committed a massive human sacrifice to his evil fake pagan gods.

Thanks Massuh and Mord.

Another variation of the swastika/sun wheel is the Schwarze Sonne/Black sun. I'm thinking about researching this and starting a thread about it but I'm loathe to post the images of the symbols (might just post links to them). They use different versions of the same symbol in order to hide the swastika and fool gullible people.

Now I recollect that from the day one Lithuanians were supporting the Nazis and in this manner they can be expected to go on supporting them till their last day.

http://www.lexiline.com/lexiline/lexi51.htm

I now feel it shame that their language is a degenerated form of migrant Sanskrit, which their cultura leader Marija Gimbutas thinks as the original aryan cultura on the earth. Obviously she had attempted to turn the directions of the historical road maps. Origin of her such nazi attempts are evident from the following:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marija_Gimbutas

QUOTE>> Gimbutas lived through great turmoil in her homeland during the Second World War, which was under successive Soviet and Nazi occupation from 1940–1941 and 1941–1943, respectively. A year after the birth of their first daughter, Danuté, in June 1942, the young Gimbutas family fled the country in the wake of the Soviet re-occupation, first to Vienna and then to Innsbruck and Bavaria.  <<UNQUOTE

So she ran to Baveria for shelter, that speaks volumes. Obviously her later researches and conclusions while working in America were obliquely but lopsidedly in favor of old and neo-nazis. Not surprising that intelligentia in her homeland Lithuania may be impressed with her ideas after her and even before.

The ancient Indian Sanskrit language and the modern day Latvian language share the identical ancient Indo-Aryan linguistic roots, indicating a direct common connection between the two which has yet to be explained by anthropologists and linguists.

The reason the swastika has an evil stigma attached is owed entirely to Adolph Hitler's adopting it as the symbol of Nazism.  His swastika is actually "backwards" from the original pattern which dates long back into pre-history.  The original swastika is portraying the sun spinning clockwise and represents progress, reawakening, rebirth.  Hitler's version was reversed, spinning counterclockwise, representing return to death and evil.  Disgruntled German troops returning from WWI in defeat, had begun drawing swastikas on their helmets.  Already by that time there were strong occult and pagan influences using it to represent the rebirth of a mythic "ancient pure Aryan Teutonic Race", spurred on by parlor group societies like the Thule.  These "racialist New Age groups" were all too similar to the New Age Movement groups ever present in the U.S. and Europe today.  All of them preached the return of the pure to an ancient "Golden Age" now darkened by mankind's devolution, just as today's groups preach a "return to Gaia" or "Africa the birthplace of man".  Eventually Hitler adopted the reversed "hooked cross" swastika as the formal symbol of National Socialism, combining it with Germany's traditional patriotic colors - black, red, and white.

Until WWII, the original swastika design was a frequently utilized motif in sewing, and architecture.  There are hundreds of city and state buildings today in the U.S., constructed prior to WWII, which have a swastika motif utilized somewhere in their design.

After all, a crescent moon is just a crescent moon, until it is identified as the symbol of Islam; at which point it becomes evil.

The Lithuanian, Latvians and Estonians have always been the biggest anti-semites.  I wouldn't expect anything different from them.  It's almost like it's in their genes or something.

In the Middle Ages they were fierce Teutonic Knights and Warlords.

Not exactly lovers of Jews.

Even so, there was once a thriving Jewish Community there.

We highly revere the Gaon of Vilna.

With the fall of the Iron Curtain there is a huge revival of paganism among the youth.

Let us leave he Baltic States for the Baltic peoples.
