Conserving the Environment
« on: June 18, 2007, 04:05:51 PM »
Even though global warming may be an exaggerated theory, it still deems important to cut down carbon emissions and conserve the environment through recycling etc

I'm certainly not a green person, or even leftist but i do believe that it is our duty to act upon cleansing the world from all the pollution thats clogging up our lungs!

Is Stewardship a rule set forth in the Torah?

I agree with you entirely on the idea of cutting down polution, the only real way we could do this though would be to stop using oil, we have to find alternatives, by getting off of oil we will also stop funding the muslim terrorist regimes, so it woul be a case of killing two birds with one stone.

Yep, so maybe the spark in hunting for alternative resources due to "global warming" is a beneficial thing because it solves the problem of oil dependency!

Sarah, I do consider myself an environmentalist, because I love to hike. That said, I do think global warming is almost completely a crock. (The one part of it that I do buy is that deforestation causes higher temperatures. Trees do serve as a heat sink for radiated light. Compare a shaded street with the parking lot of a busy mall at midday.)

I am all for habitat conservation, which the eco-commies have forgotten all about in their insane quest to end all oil exploration and outlaw all carbon. That means getting our overpopulation problem under control (both in the third world, where it is the worst, and here).

I never really thought about overpopulation myself.....it is a definite problem especially when half the newly born babies have contracted AIDS.

First things first: carbon dioxide is plant food, not pollution.  Think about that.  The environmental movement is the new Communism.  That said, REAL environmentalists need to keep up on clean air and water at local levels, but not at the expense of our freedoms.  Everything else said on this thread is correct.
