I have two large (wooden handle) pistols and a smaller black one.
I got them way before all the gun grabbing laws took effect.
Now you need permits and permits are almost impossible to get.

You can still drive 200 miles to PA to get one.
That's where I get bullets.
Of course, I live in the crowded cities, so there's really nothing to shoot.

What brand/manufacturer?

It looks like this one:
http://www.glock.com/english/glock22.htm
I can't find the exact model. It's very warned from years of cold wet storage.

the other two I got from a garage sale.
One does not work.
The other one, very old, looks like:
http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=11101&storeId=10001&productId=14740&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=15710&isFirearm=Y

of course, now it looks like this:
http://www.mindfully.org/tshirt.htm

Do you know for sure if it's a Glock? All Glocks have the name on the slide as well as the model number. What caliber is it chambered in? Is it plastic frame? (All Glocks are plastic frame, steel slide)

It's all rusted but it does look like 22.
I'm not really good with gun models. I just went around with friends when I was 17.
I'm 34 now.

It's rusted? Do you have a picture? I can identify it if you have one of your gun.

Aimsurplus is running a deal for anyone with an AK47 or a gun that shoots 7.62x39, 129 dollars for Romanian Hot Shot ammo (700 rounds), that's as cheap as I've seen it.

http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Hot_Shot_7.62x39_123grn_FMJ.html

I just bought some :)

You know, they're buried somewhere, I haven't touch them in years because there's nothing to shoot. Well, actually, there's plenty I would like to shoot...
But with a one year old boy and a worried wife, I'd keep it hidden.

From memory, at least the black one is likely a 22. Every Jew, a .22.
I wouldn't use those anymore. But I do have stacks of ammo.
Are ammo any good after years? Should I throw them away?

I would like to get new one's soon though.

Of course, another issue is that I'm not capable of killing anything larger than a bird.
As long as it's dead or small.
Otherwise, my hands just won't pull the trigger.

They are as long as the primers haven't been damaged.

Glock 22 is not a .22, there are no .22 Glocks made, the Glock model 22 however is a 40 S&W. If you ever bury a gun, you should preserve it using cosmoline. Use eezox to prevent rust.

For those of you who selected "I want to but I can't", why not? Where do you live?

You can buy a gun as long as you are not a convicted felon, in some areas, it's just difficult to do so legally.

Is money an issue?

I can legality but as I said before I live with my Rabbi and 4 children they are 13, 10, 6, and 1. I don't think he would be comfortable with me having a gun in the house. I live in Seattle and in Washington State and there is no Gun Registration in the state I could buy a gun from a private owner and never tell the state and I'd me okay. As I also said before I am learning to shoot.

I'm confused, the purpose of having a gun (as depicted by the constitution) is that we are the militia and to defend this country against a tyrannical government, enemies foreign and domestic. You would basically be defending your family and yourself from evil doers who come to kill or harm you.

It's good that you are learning to shoot, but you should ask your rabbi how he feels about it, if not, do you have family you could keep the gun with? I think some gun ranges allow you to keep your gun in a locker as well.

Lead therapy lol!

And for those who answered you can't get a gun, haven't heard it yet, where do you guys live and why can't you get a gun. I'm trying to help the JTF here and get more members involved in firearm ownership to prepare for hard times. This is not a joke, the poll results are very dissapointing, but even 1 new gun owner is success for us.

So with November elections coming up, how many folks here will be buying guns?

I will be buying a Czech VZ-58 in 7.62 x 39 in the next few days as the elections come closer. More importantly, I will be buying a LOT of ammo as it's going to be in short supply. I am taking no chances.

After my income taxes, I hope to buy another AK47 of some sort and maybe a H&K 91 .308 rifle.
I want to buy an AK. Is this one recommended?
