Chabads Statement on Mumbai Terrorist attack
« on: November 28, 2008, 03:12:06 PM »
I  received a link from my Chabad Rabbi:

He sent this to me yesterday, thus the news is old

UPDATE: (9:00 am Pacific Time)

The Chabad House (aka Nariman House) is currently in a hostage situation, with Indian Commandos mulling around outside, considering whether to storm the house or not. Rabbi Holtzberg as well as his wife are inside and at last report are alive but unconscious. Their baby Moshe was rescued by a nanny who was inside as well but grabbed the baby and ran outside unharmed.

Please say a prayer, perhaps Psalm 20, and give Tzedaka for the Chabad Rabbi and his family (Holtzberg), the Israeli tourists and all the good people of Mumbai, India.

(11:30 pm Pacific Time)
Terrorists have attacked ten tourist sites in Mumbai including a restaurant right next to Chabad House and according to some reports the Chabad House too. Bullets are flying there right now and the terrorists are seeking people with British and American passports.

Please have in mind Gavriel Noach Ben Freida Bluma, Rivkah Bas Yehudis and Moshe Tzvi Ben Rivkah (Rabbi & Rebbetzin Holtzberg and their baby.) The Israeli foreign ministry spoke to him over three hours ago but they have not heard from him since and there was an attack on his street.

Link to say Tehillim: http://www.chabad.org/6320

May Hashem answer our prayers and I will share good news when I have it.

Rabbi Yaakov Kagan

11:00 AM PST - UPDATE:

Reports of hostages being freed from the Chabad House do not include 10 -12 additional Hostages still being held elsewhere Rabbi and Mrs. Holtzberg are presumed to be with the hostages still being held.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14
