Please pray for me to get this job in Israel!
« on: October 20, 2009, 01:53:54 PM »
I will be applying for a job in Israel that seems like a good match for my skills. I ask all members here to pray that I get it. My prayers never work. I guess I am not on good standing with G-d. But maybe other good people can pray for me. I have been unemployed for a long time now. I've been telling myself that G-d probably has the best possible job for me. Now maybe this is the job he has in mind for me. Please pray for me.

May G-d give you that job and bring you and other Jews from Diaspora to Israel!

G-d always does what is best for us even if we don't undertsand His designs.
Even if you don't get that job, there are plenty of others in Israel.
Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help (Psalms 146:3)

Thank you, Mord.

G-d always does what is best for us even if we don't undertsand His designs.

That's what I've got to believe. Thank you.

Will do, and also keep praying yourself too and don't lose hope.

Thank you. I will continue praying and try not to lose hope. This has been hard for me because my long-time prayers have not been answered. When I think about it, not a single prayer of mine has ever been answered. This doesn't mean that only bad things happen to me but that if good things happen, they happen on their own. But when I pray about something (even if the prayer is very reasonable and realistic) I can be assured that it will not go my way. I don't know why this is. Maybe G-d is disciplining me this way.

Lisa, thank you. I do hope so. I'd rather not be too specific in a public forum. It concerns a special area of expertise. I would be a good, qualified candidate. If I get it, I can tell some members through a private message.

I am praying for a friend but you have my prayers also.

May your parnassa flow down from Shamayim...

It will be wonderful to work in Israel. What kind of work do you do? My company just bought an Israeli company so there is a posibility one day I may move there and still work for my company...

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

I don't know exactly what the first sentence means, but it sounds beautiful! Thank you, muman.

I'd rather not say exactly what I do. I may say it later in private. This is not a technical field.

It would be wonderful if you could move to Israel to work for your company!

Im sorry... Parnassa means 'livelyhood' or your 'sustanance'....

Potaiach et Yadecha Umasbiah Lechol Chay Ratzon
Open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

This verse is the highlight of the prayer Ashrei. The Jewish Code of Law  'The Shulchan Aruch' states clearly that if one does not say this verse with proper intent, he must say the verse again correctly. It is also interesting to note that in the Sefardic version of Birkat Hamazon this verse is stated in the first and primary paragraph before the concluding Baruch..Hazan Et Hakol. So what is it about this Pasuk that is so compelling and powerful? If you will, Mah Nishtana Hapasuk Hazeh Mikol Hapsukim?

One answer is that it deals with Parnassa / mans sustenance. Our sages tell us that Parnassa comes straight from the hands of Hashem. And without Parnassa we cannot survive on this earth at all. Our sages compare the complexity and importance of the divine provision of mans sustenance with the miraculous Splitting of the Red Sea. We therefore pray this verse with a full intent to declare and affirm that it is G-d and G-d himself that is behind the sustenance of every living thing.

And Shamayim means 'The Heavens'...

Gd will provide for you what is right for you for the moment and the future...even if you didn't get the job you wanted...consider it a blessing in disguise..Gd works in mysterious ways.
