Media narrative on the GG gay bar: Dangerous provocation that needlessly inflames cultural tensions in the ostensible service of liberal values.

How very insensitive.

    I’m announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space.

    This is not a joke. I’ve already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance.

    As you know, the Muslim faith doesn’t look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I’m building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world.

    The goal, however, is not simply to open a typical gay bar, but one friendly to men of Islamic faith. An entire floor, for example, will feature non-alcoholic drinks, since booze is forbidden by the faith. The bar will be open all day and night, to accommodate men who would rather keep their sexuality under wraps – but still want to dance.

Not an idea that would play well with Christians or Jews vis-a-vis property adjacent to a church or temple, but oh well: If we’re going to celebrate tolerance regardless of the sensitivities of the surrounding area, let’s celebrate! And the best part? Because, as we’ve been assured many times, the “Park51″ cultural center will be a model of moderation, gay Muslim men don’t have to worry about being seen entering Gut’s establishment. Flaunt it all you want, fellas; you’re in Moderate Town, U.S.A., on that block. I look forward to the congratulatory Mike Bloomberg press conference.

Someone should open up an Entertainment Emporium next door featuring a gay bar, strip club, and porno theater which exclusively serves Jews and ex-Muslims alcoholic drinks named after prominent caliphs, and pork snacks named after leading Muslim scholars. I originally thought this was a joke... But I looked at the story of IsraelMatzav and now I realize this is not a joke...

I am 100% against any such further desecration of the 9/11 site attack. Why would anyone want to further antagonize the victims {of which I am included}? Why are they doing this to the families? It is not at all considerate that anyone would build the mosque in the first place, but then on top of that to further pour salt into our wounds there are those who think it would be funny to invite more perverts to this blood-soaked ground? What are people smoking today to make them so callous and mean to people who are suffering and still suffer {as my mother cannot believe this world today, it is making her and my step-dad sick}...

This kind of thing must stop... Or maybe both the gay bar and the Mosque should be blown up by suicide bombers or a car packed with explosives... Believe me it will happen...

Because Eminem is both gay and pro-Muslim (he viciously attacked Bush and Cheney soon after 9/11, and dressed up as Osama bin Laden in one of his videos ("Without Me"). I can easily see him being a concubine to the sheiks.

I think the bar is exactly what these mosque goers should have to look at..every moment they leave it and enter it.  They need to learn that tolerance isn't something that they only get.  Tolerance is something you have to give.  I would prefer the Church or Synagogues built in Arab lands, but I'll settle for this.  Muman there are a lot of gay bars in Manhattan, one more isn't going to raise any eyebrows.  And seeing how this will abhsolutely piss the F**K out of them, I say do it and do it loud.  While I doubt any of us will be going to it, just the thought at how much it will irk these insensitive selfish people is a reason enough: shoving their hypocrisy right back at them

Actually it makes the entire 9/11 attack site into a joke... And I still don't see the humor in this... True there are already gay bars in NYC but that is not the point. The point is sticking this kind of stuff in the face of the victims families... There are some very callous and insensitive people out there...

Most likely so but in there they can keep it under wraps... I can just see the interaction on the streets if the mosque and gay bar open together    The gays may start bending over for prayers 3 times a day
