Maybe I'm nuts to think this, but is he really risking a fatwa put on him?  I certainly hope not.   Knowing how the muslimes are, and being that he's Jewish on top of it, I wouldn't have had the ba guts to do this.

However, more power to him!

This is so great.  I was VERY angry that Sasha TOTALLY sidestepped Islam with Borat.. making the jew-hating terrorist loving Kazakstanian some sort of weird pagan... but this is certainly a courageous thing.

I thought Borat was really funny, hopefully this one would be too but I bet it will be really vulgar, but then so is Islam

I thought Borat was an attempt to see just how many people he could openly display their antisemitism without giving himself away completely.  Come on, getting all of those hicks to sing "throw the Jew into the well" was quite masterful.

I have a gut feeling that Sasha has finally figured out that being tolerant and protective of Islam was lunacy and self-hating.

Again, if watch Borat, you can tell that he is trying to cover up for Islam.  He includes a scene that is meant to show southerners as being 'Islamaphobic' And again, he was from Kazakstan, country that is mostly Muslim, and he purposefully made Borat a non-muslim to protect Islam.

I was reading through the comments, and you can tell the viewers are shocked at this new slant.  Its very refreshing.

Also Ben Kingsly(another Jew) looks hilarious in this.

One thing he does like to do is shock people so I think this was his next step in trying to be offensive, he realizes that Islam is the untouchable subject nowadays and so makes the perfect target for someone like him.

It doesn't look from the reviews I have seen that the goal of the movie is to make fun of Islam so much as it is to make fun of Middle Eastern dictators. Still, I want to see it. I have loved all of SBC's work, although Bruno was a bit needlessly raunchy.

If someone finds a torrent of Bruno don't download it, it has some kind of trackers attached to it which cause your ISP to contact you, it's a rigged torrent, possibly posted up by the MPAA itself to get rid of downloaders. I saw that in all the comments for the torrent which seems to be the only one available. Probably a good thing as the comments also say it's like gay porn and a terrible movie. I haven't seen it but I did see Borat and thought that was pretty funny.

I think I'm going to get netflix or something like that to watch movies, downloading has become almost more hassle than it's worth lately with having to check every torrent for trackers. Netflix is pretty cheap too, still don't have to pay 20 bucks for each movie which is a plus. The only thing I don't like is the automatic renewal, it sounds like it might be hard to stop payments if I say, wanted to watch a few movies in the first month and then wasn't interested in anything else for the next several months.

I'm also trying to start saving up money now so hopefully I can visit New York in a couple of years and attend a JTF meeting so I need to be careful with my money. I still go to the actual theater too and that's gotten more expensive, especially since they make me buy a new pair of 3d glasses every time (I usually only watch 3d movies in the theater, because I like the effects). Also movies that are really cool and I wanted to see more of that type I've gone to the actual theater, like the LOTR series.

Very good... Everyone knows where I stand on the piracy issue. In most cases I don't even like movies so I don't have the urge to pirate it... I have pirated software in my 'younger days' though so I can understand why some people do...

Well when you have a retail job Muman you can't necessarily afford to see every movie you're interested in. I've never pirated exclusively, just some movies. I've paid to see a lot of movies too and have enough DVDs and old VHS's to prove it and a bunch of fading movie tickets in my purse I should probably get around to throwing away.

Netflix seems to be cheaper than Blockbuster was.

The downloads used to be really low quality a lot of times (dark screens, especially) and not really like seeing it on tv or in the actual theater.

Sometimes if I saw one movie at home it helped me see the rest in the series later at the theater. One particular movie that's a bit of an ironic example was Pirates of the Caribbean, I saw the first movie as a torrent, thought it was hilarious, and watched the others in the theater.

I never understood why it's ok to watch a movie for free when it just happens to be shown on tv (as most of the movies I've torrented eventually have been) but not ok to watch it for free on my computer. I see just as many advertisements either way. lol

Anyway just for personal convenience' sake I might see if I can find something cheaper and just as good as Netflix if not I might start using it because checking every torrent to see if some MPAA jerk is rigging it is becoming a headache. There used to be a few reliable uploaders like axxo who always gave out quality dvd rips and lived in a foreign country where they could do it without being hassled, but he's been impersonated a lot and so even things labeled as coming from axxo weren't necessarily from him and if I saw something called a tracker in the file I knew it was no good.

All the other reliable uploaders have also been impersonated to the point where it's ridiculous.

It also seems like I have to keep changing programs, first I used Napster for music and that got shut down then I used limewire for music/movies, that got screwed up, bearshare got screwed up, utorrent and bittorrent are still ok but you have to check every single file to make sure it's not a fake/virus/set up.

IRC and Usenet have infiltrators too.

I guess the Borg are winning this one.

Netflix is nice.  The selection is getting better, but it still only has a fraction of all the movies online.  Its just very convenient.

Thanks for the info!

I honestly think the only reason sites like Netflix even exist is because of the people who were tired of having to pay so much money to rent or buy movies. I think the industry got the picture and reduced the costs because of us.

At least some of the tv shows I like have places to watch them for free online without having to download.

We all know Jew haters don't need much encouragement. During the "Running of the Jews" scene in Borat, the audience in the theatre (here in 'progressive' Boston) roared with laughter. It was clear to me they were not laughing at the ignorance of the Kazakh villagers, but at the mockery of the Jews. I literally relived William Grim's relatively recent experience during a 2002 screening of "The Pianist" in Germany:

I will never see another of Cohen's films again. He disgusts me.
