Have No Fear : The message to take into 5773
« on: September 24, 2012, 09:13:16 PM »
I just had to share this video with everyone. I know not everyone digs the 'rap' but this video uses rap against a rock chorus which sounds great with this song. The lyrics are derived from a Rabbi Nachman of Breslov wisdom :

"The whole world is a narrow bridge, but the main thing is to fear nothing at all".

I find this song motivating and have listened to it about six times already, and I will listen again...

We sing this song as "Kol HaOlam" on Shabbat afternoons...
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

I like it too Muman!
Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the horn, and the people be not warned, and the sword do come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Contrast that to the traditional melody which we sing Saturday afternoon... This version is by Mordechai Ben David...

I just uploaded this selection from Saul Kaye {A local Jewish Blues musician who I have seen a couple of times} which puts the 'Al Tira' prayer to music. This prayer implores us to not fear anything, and have absolute faith in Hashem.
