You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

Ok... This is a long classic Yes tune from the 'Tales from Topographic Oceans' release...

Dawn of light lying between
A silence and sold sources
Chased amid fusions of wonder
In moments hardly seen forgotten

Colored in pastures of chance
Dancing leaves cast spells of challenge
Amused but real in thought
We fled from the sea whole

Dawn of thought transfered through moments
Of days under searching earth
Revealing corridors of time provoking memories
Disjointed but with purpose

Craving penetrations offer links
With the self instructors sharp
And tender love as we took to the air
A picture of distance

Dawn of our power we amuse
Re descending as fast as misused
Expression, as only to teach love as
To reveal passion chasing

Late into corners, and we danced from the ocean
Dawn of love sent within us
Colors of awakening among the many
Won't to follow, only tunes of a different age

As the links span our endless caresses
For the freedom of life everlasting
Talk to the sunlight caller
Soft summer mover distance mine

Called out a tune but I never saw the face
Heard but not replaced
I ventured to talk, but I never lost my place

Cast out a spell rendered for the light of day
Lost in lights array, I ventured to see
As the sound began to play

What happened to this song we once knew so well?
Signed promise for moments caught within the spell
I must have waited all my life for this moment, moment

The future poised with the splendor just begun
The light we were as one
And crowded through the curtains of liquid into sun

And for a moment when our world had filled the skies
Magic turned our eyes
To feast on the treasure set for our strange device

What happened to wonders we once knew so well?
Did we forget what happened surely we can tell
We must have waited all our lives for this, moment, moment
Moment

Starlight, movement, reasons
Release forward tallest rainbow
Sun shower seasons, fife flower reasons

They move fast, they tell me
But I just can't believe that I can feel it
There's someone to tell you
Amid the challenge we look around in unison with you

Getting over overhanging trees, let them rape the forest
Thoughts would send our fusion
Clearly to be home

Getting over wars we do not mean or so it seems so clearly
Sheltered with our passion, clearly to be home
They move fast, they tell me
But I just can't believe they really mean to

There's someone, to tell you and I just can't
Believe our song will leave you
Skyline teacher, warland seeker
Send out poison, cast iron leader

And through the rhythm of moving slowly
Sent through the rhythm work out the story
Move over glory to sons of old fighters past

Young Christians see it from the beginning
Old people feel it, that's what they're saying
Move over glory to sons of old fighters past

They move fast, they tell me
But I just can't believe they really mean to
There's someone, to tell you
A course towards a universal season

Getting over overhanging trees
Let them rape the forest
They might stand and leave them
Clearly to be home

Getting over wars we do not mean
We charm the movement suffers
Call out all our memories
Clearly to be home

We've moved fast
We need love
A part we offer is our only freedom

What happened to this song we once knew so well?
Signed promise for moments caught within the spell
We must have waited all our lives for this moment, moment

Past present movers, moments we'll process the future
But only through him we know, send flowered rainbows
A piece apart chased flowers of the dark and lights

Of songs to follow and show all we feel for
And know of cast round, you seekers of the truth
Accepting that reason will relive and breath and hope
And chase and love for you and you and you

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

I hope someone out there likes Yes as much as I do... I saw Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe (ABWH) in 1989 in Santa Barbara California... They are the main members of YES who got together that year to release this album...

While I was thinking of the concept of 'Mesorah', the idea of an 'Unbroken Chain' of tradition which has been passed down from our ancestors all the way from the revelation of Sinai, the melody of the Grateful Dead's 'Unbroken Chain' entered my consciousness... This is a rare tune, sung by Phil Lesh (who only sings two-three songs in the Dead's repertoire), and one which I find relaxing..

Blue light rain, whoa, unbroken chain
Looking for familiar faces in an empty window pane
Listening for the secret, searching for the sound
But I could only hear the preacher and the baying of his hounds
Willow sky, whoa, I walk and wonder why
They say love your brother but you will catch it when you try
Roll you down the line boy, drop you for a loss
Ride out on a cold railroad and nail you to a cross
November and more as I wait for the score
They're telling me forgiveness is the key to every door
A slow winter day, a night like forever
Sink like a stone, float like a feather
Lilac rain, unbroken chain
Song of the Saw-Whet owl
Out on the mountain it'll drive you insane
Listening to the winds howl
Unbroken chain of sorrow and pearls
Unbroken chain of sky and sea
Unbroken chain of the western wind
Unbroken chain of you and me

I realize the song has nothing to do with our 'Mesorah'... But I would like to share this concept...

Quote
http://www.torahtots.com/parsha/devarim/shoftim2.htm

It all comes down to Mesorah, the unbroken chain of Torah. From the time that Moshe received the Torah and oral law from Hashem, the commandments were passed down directly: first to Yehoshua, then to the elders, then to the judges and finally to the Sanhedrin. To disobey the Sanhedrin is the same as disobeying the very word that Moshe received from Hashem at Har Sinai.

Symphonic Power-Goth Metal (underrated band)

lyrics:

Intense light will slowly break the shadow
Penetrating the sorrow of obscurity
Behind the end of silence

Like a perpetual fire infinite time will burn
Leaving behind just the ashes of despair

Like a tempest it will wipe out the traces
Of sadness
Giving light to every forgotten being

I will meet you in the shadow
I will wind your body
By holding tight your cold hands
I will give you back the heat and ancient light

You will erase the past

The power of light will destroy defects
And will kiss those who are weeping

You will erase the past
And will never shed a tear because of it.

When I was in college in the 80's and I first started to listen to the GD, my 'favorite song' came from the 'American Beauty' album...

This song, 'Ripple' still makes a psychological impression on me...

"Ripple"

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.

La dee da da da, La da da da da, Da da da, Da da, Da da da da da
La da da da, La da da, Da da, La da da da, La da, Da da.[/quote]
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

This tune, also from the 'American Beauty' album is one of the other three songs which are sung by Phil Lesh (the bass guitarist)... The tune, 'Box of Rain'...

"Box Of Rain"

Look out of any window
any morning, any evening, any day
Maybe the sun is shining
birds are winging or
rain is falling from a heavy sky -
What do you want me to do,
to do for you to see you through?
this is all a dream we dreamed
one afternoon long ago
Walk out of any doorway
feel your way, feel your way
like the day before
Maybe you'll find direction
around some corner
where it's been waiting to meet you -
What do you want me to do,
to watch for you while you're sleeping?
Well please don't be surprised
when you find me dreaming too

Look into any eyes
you find by you, you can see
clear through to another day
I know it's been seen before
through other eyes on other days
while going home -
What do you want me to do,
to do for you to see you through?
It's all a dream we dreamed
one afternoon long ago

Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams
to another land
Maybe you're tired and broken
Your tongue is twisted
with words half spoken
and thoughts unclear
What do you want me to do
to do for you to see you through
A a box of rain will ease the pain
and love will see you through

Just a box of rain -
wind and water -
Believe it if you need it,
if you don't just pass it on
Sun and shower -
Wind and rain -
in and out the window
like a moth before a flame

It's just a box of rain
I don't know who put it there
Believe it if you need it
or leave it if you dare
But it's just a box of rain
or a ribbon for your hair
Such a long long time to be gone
and a short time to be there
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

OK, I am stretching my grey matter all over the place to pull bands which I have not posted before... I have reached way, WAAAY back to bring this tune 'I love you more than you will ever know...' from the classic band 'Blood, Sweat, and Tears'...

I don't care what anyone says, this is great art.
http://hypnoticdirgerecords.bandcamp.com/track/faceless-moments

lyrics:
I have two wings
I can fly between past and future
I can dance in next winter and swim in past summer
I can watch your childhood while you're waiting for your death
Can you imagine me without a face?
You feel me by each second of your life

Dying moments of dream
I drown in deadly stream

Dying moments of dream
I put myself in stream
