They have a homo history month now apparently. Maybe they had it at the Jewish History Museum because Obama decclared May to also be "Jewish American Heritage Month".

I'm not an admin. Should I ask Chaim to split it?

I originally posted it here because I remember hearing a commericial featuring an event for the so-called "equality forum" that honored the Israeli ambasador for Israel's "homosexual tolerance". I also once saw a tour guide at the Israeli Consulate that the Israeli Tourism Ministry put out for "gay tourists".

It was last year that the homo "equality" forum honored the Israeli ambasador as the "keynote speaker". This year they honored Cuba but had a dinner at the National Museum of Jewish History ON SHABBAT. Last year's was also at the same museum on Shabbat. The time said 7-10 so that proves it was in violation of Shabbat as well as other prohibition such as Chillul Hashem.

The twentieth annual Equality Forum is being held in Philadelphia. This year this global LGBT summit is highlighting the achievements of the State of Israel in giving equal opportunities to all sexual orientations.

According to the Equality Forum's Executive Director Malcolm Lazin: 

Our 20th anniversary celebrates the transformation from a groundbreaking conference that focused on an emerging civil rights movement into the annual Equality Forum recognized as the premier annual national and international LGBT summit.

Israel as the featured nation will be represented by the Ambassador to the U.S., major Israeli LGBT leaders, and Tel Aviv DJs and entertainers."

The annual Equality Forum includes 25 panels, International Equality Dinner, SundayOUT! at The Piazza, six parties, 13th Annual Gay and Lesbian Art Exhibit, theater, and special events. There is no registration fee and all panels are free.

Here's an article about the Chillul Hashem of a homo dinner at a Jewish museum ON SHABBAT. I wonder if it was kosher or if they just brought outside caterers who used thier own dishes. It said Saturday Night but I doubt that at this time of year, they waited until after Shabbat which is almost 9:00 P.M..

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Equality forum hosted its international equality dinner on Saturday Night at the National Museum of American Jewish History. Pennsylvania state Treasuer Rob McCord delivered the keynote speech.
 
“We’re not just progressive in this room, we’re pragmatic, we’re effective, we’re innovative,” McCord said.

Each year, the Equality forum has a heterosexual who they consider an alley in their push for equal rights to deliver the keynote speech.
 
This year was no different.
 
McCord talked to the room about obstacles the LBGT community has overcome and different agendas he is pushing to help them.
 
“A lot of times civil rights work starts as unpopular work and a lot of times it starts about work surrounding details,” he said. “I am very proud of the detailed work we’ve done.”
 
Congressman Barney Frank and Mariala Castro, daughter of Cuban leader Raul Castro, also attended the event, where they were both honored.

I respect what you are saying Chaim, but I disagree that there are not good Jewish museums in this country.

I go to and support the Magnes museum in Berkeley California (Yeah I know it is Berkeley)... They have not had any exhibits I would call evil or anti-Jewish...

I don't know anything about the Magnes museum but I do know that the University of California at Berkeley is a Nazi Jew-hating institution. I would never support anything that gives legitimacy to that monstrous college.

I also know that every group that is affiliated with the Jewish Establishment is evil. The Jewish Establishment has destroyed the souls of millions of American Jews. This is in addition to the unspeakable crimes that they committed when they betrayed over 6 million Jews during the holocaust, as well as their betrayal of Soviet Jewry for over 7 decades.

I know that Magnes does a lot of good work for the Jewish community. They support Israel and do a lot to fight antisemitism.

There are many good Jews in Berkeley, despite the fact that Berkeley is a liberal leftist looney farm. I do not go to Berkeley for anything except to go to the Magnes museum, and to go to the best Judaica store in the area 'Afikomen' to buy my tzit-tzits, kippahs, havdallah candles, etc... One of my Rabbis (Modern Orthodox) also had an apartment in Berkeley and I spent one High Holidays with him and his family davening at a Modern Orthodox shul in Berkeley. There is also a pretty large Jewish community in Berkeley with which I used to be involved with (a Beit Midrash in Berkeley)...

I agree that many American Jewish institutions (such as the ADL) are failing at their mission and becoming corrupted. But I do believe that there are pockets of good Jews who live in the far reaches of the diaspora who are doing good for the Jewish people.


I just ordered a few pairs of tallit katan (tzit-tzits) from them...

Let me add that it is disgusting for a Jewish museum to honor homosexuality. While I know where I live, the San Francisco area, is plagued by the homosexual agenda we also voted against homo marriage when it was put to a vote. I know all the Rabbaim that I associate with are vocally against any open homosexual relationships. I now mostly associate with Chabad, but my 'progressive synagogue' is a little less concerned with a persons sexual proclivites (which is why I reduced my involvement with that organization while not severing my connects [I talk from time to time with the 'rabbi' of that shul])...
