New Haven, CT - A disturbing discovery at a Yale student's off-campus home has police and campus officials alarmed.
Authorities have arrested 21-year old David Light, a junior at Yale and president of Chabad at Yale, a Jewish student organization, after they seized rifles, pistols and various chemicals from his off-campus home.
Police were called to the home after someone reported hearing gunshots from inside the house where several fraternity members live.
Light has been charged by New Haven police with illegal possession of assault rifles, unlawful discharge of a firearm as well as reckless endangerment and making threats.
The university has suspended him until a disciplinary committee can review the case.
Police identified the seized weapons as a .50-caliber rifle, an AR-15 assault weapon, a Russian M-91 infantry rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun and various pistols.
