Shalom Chaim,

My comment concerns your representation of 'Chassidic' ideas concerning the Beit HaMikdash...

Chabad does not teach that it will fall from heaven. I have discussed this with two Chabad rabbis and both have said just as you have said. Also the Chabad website says virtually exactly what you said. As a matter of fact, this last weeks Parsha Pikudei had the story of the setting up of the Mishkan by Moshe. He had to make the effort to erect it, and a miracle happened, and Hashem helped him set it up...

Also Chabad shares your view on Eretz Yisroel and the modern state.

I spoke with a friend in my minyan for almost an hour about Rabbi Kahane last Shabbat... My Rabbi had only good words for HaRav Zt'l...

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

Very good points, Muman. I agree with you. I should have distinguished between the various streams of Charedim. To be honest, Lubavitch are so pro-Israel that I hardly think of them as Charedim.

Regarding Kahaneloyalist's question regarding Steve Goldberg,  who is running against incumbent Mort Klein for ZOA President.  Lori Lowenthal Marcus,  the person who founded Z-Street and a strong overall Jewish activist,  wrote an article that raises major concerns regarding Goldberg.   The thought of Goldberg being the former attorney of Irv Rubin certainly comes to mind when reading and hearing about the tactics Goldberg uses:

I have to respectfully disagree, I read her article and Lowenthal does not refute Goldberg's arguments against Mort Klein, she only engages in a general dismissal of his very legitimate points.

Martin Sherman has an excellent article where he counteracts Caroline Glicks endorsment of Mort Klein showing that the ZOA is in even worse shape then I thought. http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Columnists/Into-the-Fray-The-Zionist-Organization-of-America-a-personal-postscript-344610

Though I am still awaiting Chaim's final opinion on the election.
