What is the original nationality of Abraham?

He was from southern Iraq, if I'm not mistaken. Does that make him Sumerian. If so are the Sumerians Semites? Maybe Yacov would know....He's interested in these topics.

I think that the Sumerians were originally from Bahrain.

Avraham came from Shem (Noah's son).

I would love to name one of my kids one of those Genesis type of names.. but I don't think that would go well with an Italian surname..  :-\
