Classy: Sarah Palin Defending Trump Says ‘Polls Are Only Good for Strippers’
She probably doesn’t realize that she’s alienating a lot of Trump supporters by insulting strippers.
One-time Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin offered a defense of Republican nominee Donald Trump on Fox News this weekend, predicting that he will beat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton come Election Day.
The former Alaska governor told Bill O’Reilly that voters in Michigan, where she’s been campaigning, are “hot, hot, hot for Trump.”
Trump’s momentum hasn’t waned, she added, because voters understand that “someone from the private sector” needs to “get in there and allow industry to really get revved up again.”
Even though the polls show Clinton up by an average of five points in the state, Palin predicted a victory in Michigan — with a particularly colorful metaphor.
“I just don’t put a whole lot of faith in polls — especially two days out, so many things change,” she said. “Like I’ve said before, Bill, polls are only good for strippers and cross-country skiers. What matters of course is that two days from now, you know, the getting-out-the-vote effort and making sure these Reagan Democrats and independents and Michigan Republicans get out their vote.”
