FBI Releases Clinton Interview Notes, She Didn’t Know ‘C’ Meant Classified

Hillary-Clinton-Bill-Clinton-DNCOn Friday, just before a long holiday weekend, the FBI released the notes from its interview with Hillary Clinton over her e-mail scandal. The revelations couldn’t be more problematic.

Even NBC News couldn’t defend Clinton:

Documents reveal that Clinton, who as secretary of State bypassed her State Department email and installed a private email server at her home in Chappaqua, New York, was not aware of the challenges, questions and problems that could result from a high level U.S. official sidestepping security and archival guidelines.

But they also show Clinton’s lack of understanding or acknowledgement of basic standards that govern government officials, especially those with top security clearances. For instance, she was unaware of what a “c,” short for classified, meant next to some paragraphs in notes and memos.

The FBI learned that e-mails began being deleted from Clinton’s private server just afterThe New York Times released a story about her use of such a system, raising suspicions of a public records law violation.

For her part, Clinton said in the interview that she was “not aware” of any wrongdoing and simply stated she “trusted her legal team” was doing the right things. She often cited not being able to recall specific things.

Because none of this satisfies every question that still lingers, CNN’s Jake Tapper believes there’s one solution: Clinton should break her 270-day fast of press conferences and take questions to clear the whole mess up once and for all. Of course, the Democrats are ready to move on and don’t think that’s necessary.
