Caucasian is considered to be a race while "white" is a social construct.

First of all, the divisions of "races" into Caucasoid, negroid, oriental, and australoid are somewhat arbitrary to begin with.

You can't really use the divisions as a basis for some type of scientific discussion of race because the categories aren't even scientific to begin with.

Yaacov:  Thats not true at all.  Green eyes are a dominant gene, and it is not unheard of to have green eyed, non white people.  However, you will rarely find Iraqi Jews with blue eyes, which is positively a white recessive gene.

If have the black gene becomes so watered down, that,  it is not apparent any longer,  then the person can pass for white.  Technically they are not 100% white, but are able to pass as white
