Lisa, $1400 a month will get you a place in Rego Park no problem. Give it a look, it's nice, lots of shopping, Austin street is a stone's throw away with all the movie theatres and resturants, and it is convenient to Manhatten by subway.

Newman, I would like to move because I can't really afford the rent where I am now.  And the amount of money I'm paying is considered reasonable by Manhattan standards.
I've heard it's rediculous in Manhattan (unless you get a rent controlled apartment-for which you pay $20K bribe up-front).

What would 500 sq ft in Greenwich Village cost?

I'm telling you Rego Park/Forest Hills is near ideal.  :)

Oh okay. Why not think about Brooklyn then? Someplace like Williamsburg, Windsor Terrace, Midwood, Marine Park or Gravesend. All safe, fairly reasonable prices, don't need a car, and easy to get into the City.

Midwood's very Jewish, isn't it?

Yes Midwood is very Jewish, so is Borough Park right next to it. They have the biggest Hasidic and Orthodox populations outside of Israel. Williamsburg also has alot, mostly Satmars. Gravesend is mostly Italian, Russian and Sefardic Jews. Marine Park is mostly Irish and Italian but it borders Midwood and it has expanded into it in recent years and now has alot of Jews.

Forest Hills is the Sh*t, ecpecially for Bukharians. Soo many people their. Theirs many things going on, people hanging out, many Shuls, lectures and events. The mall in near, and resturants on 108 st too. But to buy a house is expensive. But their are many beauitiful Bukharain cribs their.
The Academy of Elijah taught, whoever studies the laws (of the Torah) every day, (he) is guaranteed to have a share in the World to Come.

My zeal incenses me, for my adversaries have forgotten Your words.

I am young and despised; I have not forgotten Your precepts.

" A fool does not realize, and an unwise person does not understand this (i.e. the following:) When the wicked bloom like grass, and the evildoers blossom (i.e. when they seem extremly successful), it is to destroy them forever (i.e. they are rewarded for their few good deeds in this World, and they will have no portion in the World to Come!)

Hmmm...Woodside is a possibility.  Is that near Sunnyside?  And how do the rents compare?  Is there any Jewish community there?  Do you like it?  Is it safe?  Are there any other subways besides the 7 train?  Please let me know.
