I recall former President Gerald Ford making a special 4th of July televised announcement, telling the American people that Israel had given America a very special birthday present...the succesful liberation of the hostages held by the Nazi PLO inside Uganda, via a breathtaking commando raid unlike anything the world had ever seen!

Agreed!  The greatest rescue mission ever!  They should make a movie about this very operation!
By the way, one of the leaders of the operation was Yoni Netanyahu, older brother of Bibi Netanyahu.  It's sad how such a courageous Jewish hero, who freed over 100 Jews from a potential Auschwitz, can be related to a corrupt politician.
