I went to college with a guy who had family in Austria. When he would write letters to his family members back in Austria (this was long before Email), he would address the envelope with name, street, city, Austria, and then add (in letters as large as the envelope would contain) EUROPE. He swore to God that his letters never got there without the reference to Europe on the envelope, and he assumed that his early letters were in a dead-letter office somewhere in Australia.

So, we now have a president who's as thick as so many affirmative action types (ahem) who work at the U.S. Postal Service.
