Manning was a criminal
« on: May 18, 2009, 11:02:14 AM »
"He began burglarizing homes, mostly on Long Island. Between 1969 and 1974, he said, he broke into as many as 100 houses, and once threatened an associate with a loaded shotgun. In all, he spent about three and a half years in prison in New York and Florida for burglary, robbery, larceny, criminal possession of a weapon and other charges before his release in 1978." http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/31/nyregion/31pastor.html?pagewanted=2&_r=1

I don't think this guy deserves our respect. Too many people here say he's righteous. Same thing with Alan Keyes. Keyes admires Martin Luther King.

Indeed. Jim, if you judge him so hard, I fear lots of our members wouldn't deserve respect.

He changed obviously and now he is althrough of some of his fleas a good man.

He paid dearly for what he did as a young man by not having a relationship with his children. Manning is a righteous person now and I think he deserves our respect for how he turned his life around and no longer associates with the evil aspects of black culture.

I like Pastor Manning.

Yes, I agree that the past is the past. I don't know Manning, nor have I listened to him, but I will not pass judgment on him for what he may have done 30 years ago.

Excuse me, but there are people here who think drug addicts, homosexuals, and porn stars/prostitutes should be given the death penalty and I find that culpable. Manning has done much worse than that.

And there are people who think Jews should be in ovens, so what!

You know that our Chaim has been in jail and has repented for what he did. As I have posted many times before there is a good reason for tolerance of repentance. If you are going to judge so harshly, so you will be judged.

He paid a heavy price for what he did, but he never did anything wrong to repent for. What Chaim did was the righteous thing to do.

He's still proud of what he did in the JDL and he should be.

First Manning has not done worse than this. He has stolen and threated someone with a weapon. He was not engaged in homosexuality and not in the porno "buisiness".

Second we never claimed for the death punishment for drug addicts or prostitutes neither in an Israeli Torah state nor in a gentile country. I would leave instantly if someone would claim for such a thing. The truth is the opposite: Chaim has claimed to help and therapy this people.

Third Muman is totally right. We have to accept the honest repentance of people who did wrong if they did not something uncondonable. Stealing and threatening someone with a weapon is NOT in this category.

But he has said that he would not do it again because he knows that it is not the way to achieve the goal. I would hope that JTF does not advocate violence, and I know that it doesn't. There are times when this is required but I dont think that time is now...

What he did to free Soviet Jews was the right thing to do at that time. JTF doesn't advocate violence for today as other methods are more effective. Back then, the actions the JDL took were NECESSARY and righteous and were the right methods to use.

While I see your point with Manning.... I completely disagree with you believing Keyes should be in the same boat.  Keyes has never been a degenerate and has always been a big supporter of righteousness.

While I think King shouldn't be glorified with his own holiday...  King wasn't evil... he was just ignorant and undeserving... .King was NOT a black supremacist like malcolm X or Jackson, Sharpton or Wright.

I still fully support Keyes, and am glad that there is at least one righteous black out there.

That is highly debatable.

First of all, I have never seen anyone here say that drug addicts should be executed. They are sick people who should be treated. Homosexuals/porn stars/prostitutes are WORSE than garden-variety crooks and robbers because instead of just defrauding a few people of their property, they destroy the souls of MILLIONS of impressionable people.

I am completely aware of his communist roots... which is why I say he is ignorant and undeserving of a holiday or any glorification... but Keyes admiration of him DOES NOT invalidate Keyes righteousness.

If Keyes admired malcom X, then yes.... thats dispicable... since Malcom was an adamant black supremicist.

By the way... there are PLENTY of people I admire who have hired prostitutes.... Who CARES??????  Its not something I would do... but lots of people I know have done it in Nevada, and assuming it isn't out of wedlock... I really don't care.... and I can think of plenty of things that are FAR worse.

I think to hire prostitues is clearly fornication and forbidden. It is a serious sin.

It is possible that he feels like he has to say he supports King in order to not be labeled a traitor to his race (which he is anyway).
