I know several not particularly distinguished 50+ fellows who had given up hope of ever marrying who have just landed good marriages with good women with WEALTHY in-laws....they all had one thing in common: they had all gone to Rav Nachman's kever in Uman this Rosh Hashana to pray bitterly for a good match. Would Chaim be non-grata in the Ukraine? Is Chaim allowed to leave the USA? Chaim deserves a spectacular shidduch! Though as R.Miller states, some men serve such an important tafkid for the Jewish People, that marriage and children are not nogeya, and will not come their way, as they would be an intolerable distraction. To some men, some say an increasing number, even of Orthodox ones, marriage to a female and tzar gidul banim, would literally be the death of them.
