That particular design has freewill, just as the entire species of man was given it.   He chooses to degrade himself beneath the dignity of man, but why does that mean he had no creator?!

JTF being a Civil Rights Organization believing all humanity to be endowed with free will by our Creator, we sent an official JTF reporter to the cell of "the man suspect" and this is what we asked:

"How is it that you, Michael Edwards, choose to denigrate not only yourself, but also our Creator who designed us and gave us the gift of free will?"

The alleged attacker rolled his eyes, seemingly lost in thought on how best to answer the question.

He started stabbing his lunch of pickled egg and pigs feet sandwich with a long dirt-encrusted fingernail of his left hand pinky finger, scooping out pink and yellow matter which dropped all over the pants of his orange jail issue jumpsuit.

Then, he reached his left arm all the way around the back of his head, and wiped off the mayonnaise behind one of his ears.

I heard him mutter something which sounded like "Yumsave for later!"

Suddenly, his mood seemed to brighten, his face lit up with a broad smirking grin, and "the man suspect" started screeching in a sound which could only be likened to the cacophony one hears when visiting the Monkey House at the Washington, D.C. Zoo:

"Mee no got' uh Cree-atuh!" --

"Mee got's uh' SPRAY-ATUH!" ...

"Mee no got' uh Cree-atuh!" --

"Mee got's uh' SPRAY-ATUH!" ...

"Mee no got' uh Cree-atuh!" --

"Mee got's uh' SPRAY-ATUH!" ...

It - argument from complexity/design - was also the argument that the author of Hovoth Halevavoth (Duties of the Heart), Rabbi Bahya Ibn Pequda used, which he wrote around 1040, so unfortunately for Paley, he cannot take credit for originating this idea

Thanks for the extra information Kahane was Right BT. It's good for strengthening the faith of people who already believe, but I'm not sure how much it does for people who are skeptical of God. Many atheists have addressed this argument and why they don't agree with it.

In truth, I don't think it's a "proof" in the modern sense of the word proof (ie it's not absolute proof or irrefutable as an argument, like a demonstrative proof in biology or a mathematical equation).  In other words, not "empirical."  I think there can't really be proof of G-d in that sense (and certainly also cannot be disproof).   However, it could perhaps be called a compelling argument or an indication of possibility, even if it's not an absolute proof per se.   Because anyone can always reply and argue with skepticism such as 'well, it's just coincidence.'   Or randomly natural selection did it.  Or it's unlikely but the unlikely accident happened.  Or there are zillions of zillions of universes out there (this is also not an empirical statement), etc.

The bottom line is that in the end it all comes down to a matter of faith at some point, and that's the part that nonbelievers in God can't understand or refuse to take part in. They find it illogical. I wish I had a good argument for that, but I really don't.

Very true. There cannot be a scientific proof of the existence of G-d.

Some people aren't open to the idea because they feel like it excludes God somehow, but I believe that God worked through natural processes such as evolution to create.

Well only 2 people responded to you, so what were you thinking, it had 0 popularity here?  Or 1 person on the forum agreed with it and no one else?     And now you're surprised to find a popularity of 2?

I'm skeptical of what you say.

In any case, do a search for evolution and you'll see that there are other threads where this topic has been discussed before.  There are people here for it and people here who deny it.
