Here are two interesting public quotes in favour of Huckabee :

“There is no room for a Palestinian state in the middle of the Jewish homeland and Israel should be able to build settlements wherever it wants.”

“But there’s really no such thing as a Palestinian. That’s been a political tool to try and force land away from Israel”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any other US candidate speaking so clearly.

Why all this hype for gerrt??Sure he is a good man, but hes also an artheist and rabbi kahane always said you  cannot have secular nationlism.

He was referring to Jewish nationalism.   Our discussion here is about american president.

Gert would be pro abortion as well.

You know that for a fact or just saying it?

Huckabe is by far the best candidate, i cannot take anyone seriously who supports sarah palin, they must have a crish on her or comething as she is incredibly stupid.

Gotta agree with you here.  She is a joke.

muman could have slated me on that last post as some of my typos were shocking.

You are right KWRBT, i am assuming gert is pro abortion. Is there any quotes from gert on abortion???

Look, will we agree with everything huckabee says or does??Of course not, Chaim said once that we even have disagreements with our loved ones. But the fact is he is a moral bible believing man, the only arguement against him is "he might flip flop on all his policies". Well maybe he might, but you can say that for all politicians. But fact is currently he IS the best candidate by a mile if you look at sheer policies and likability.

The fact that a guy with zero funding produced such a grassroots movement shows he has charisma. Remember he got his follwing only through his tv debates, no fancy money(mitt romney), or psyco sheep(ron paul supporters), just likability and wittness.

Chaim, I agree he is not nearly as bad as many of the "Republicans" out there but I am hesitant to answer this poll because:

--He viciously attacked Mitt Romney in the 2008 primaries and appeared to side with John McCain once it was clear he would not get the nomination.
--He has been very politically correct on the subject of dealing with Obama.
--In the past, he said that he also supports the Fakestinians and that they are suffering through no fault of their own.

Take Tancredo off my list, I just learned he opposes Israeli settlements in so-called Palestinian land!

http://www.cfr.org/publication/14756/candidates_on_the_israelipalestinian_conflict.html

Quote
Rep. Tancredo (R-CO), who has campaigned tirelessly for a wall to separate the United States from Mexico, frequently has cited the effectiveness of the Israeli security wall cordoning off the West Bank.  In 2004, Tancredo called on then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to “stop settlement expansion on the Palestinian side of the fence.” In 2006, Tancredo cosponsored the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006. He joined in resolutions condemning the late Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat during the early years of the Bush administration

I am hoping Duncan Hunter,a former Congressman, decides to run again. He is against "free trade" which is destroying our economy, and for unleashing the U.S. military against our enemies. Finally, he is against Israel giving up any territory, and unlike Huckabee is not flip-flopper on Immigration nor a pardoner of murderers.

http://www.jewsonfirst.org/07b/yoffie.html

Quote
If he becomes president, Rep. Duncan Hunter says he will continue to hold the position that Israel should surrender "not one inch" of disputed territory to the Arabs in exchange for pledges of peace.

Addressing a Christian Zionist meeting in Alexandria, Va., Sunday evening, the California Republican recalled a visit with his father to the Golan Heights, where they viewed a narrow valley where a small number of Israeli tanks had held off more than 1,400 Soviet-built Syrian tanks during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

Hunter, a Vietnam veteran and former chairman and current ranking minority member of the House Armed Services Committee, said he had vowed then that he would always support what he called that "postage stamp of a country."

tancredo, hunter... etc.   These guys have no chance to win even a single state primary, let alone the presidency.

What did Huckabee win? Iowa and then flame out!

Huckabee is an even worse position now because he pardoned that cop killer, and he is gaining back all the weight he lost!

Hunter has been consistent on this issues, and frankly you never know what can happen in politics. Maybe he will have shining moment in a debate, and then some online money bombs. The Tea party is more likely to support Hunter than a former Arkansas Governor who pardoned a cop killer, and supported taxpayer funded scholarships to illegal aliens, and amnesty for illegal aliens!

One of my concerns about Mike Huckabee is regarding the general election campaign.      I'm not sure if Huckabee has the resolve to counter Barack Hussein Obama,   who will do WHATEVER it takes to remain in the Oval Office.    Huckabee just seems to be too nice.     A pitbull approach is what appears to be needed as part of a winning formula against BHO.
"Israel's leaders seem to be more afraid of Obama than they are of G-d. Now we're getting to the real root of the problem. Secular politics won't save Israel. Denying the divine nature of the Jewish State has brought Israel neither stability nor peace. When that changes Israel will finally be blessed with both in abundance"-----------NormanF   ( Posted on Israel Matzav's Blog )

I don't think Duncan Hunter is going to run again. But you like Hunter and trust his judgement as a leader. Great. After Hunter withdrew from the 2008 Presidential race, whom did he support for the Presidency? Mike Huckabee.

Chaim, here is my full take on the matter:

On this matter, I agree with Ron. Huckabee might turn out to be the best we have got but I'm not convinced yet. Ron's quote on Huckabee's position on the Fakestinians is one I dug up years ago and posted liberally during the primaries here. I am not sure at all that I trust him. We could very easily have a Jimmy Carter here--someone who attacks Israel and supports the Arabs with a religious zeal. It's great that he says he supports the pioneers and that they should be allowed to construct unfettered NOW, but back before he was in the limelight, this wasn't exactly his position as Ron has reminded us.

Huckabee's record prior to running for president is one of a fanatical religious leftist. That's what we have to work with and actions speak louder than words. You said that he might be another Ronald Reagan--a semi-left-wing governor who becomes more right-wing as president--but that's not exactly something to aspire to. Ronald Reagan (ys"vz) was a Nazi pig who invaded Lebanon in order to crush the IDF, railroaded Jonathan Pollard, sucked the Soviet taqqiyah master Mikhail Gorbachev (ys"vz)'s tuchis to no end, and threw you in prison for six years in order to suck up to the Soviets. He also praised SS (yimach schmam) butchers at his Bitburg address and was very good friends with Fag Buchanus.

At this point, I'm not convinced yet that a Romney-type wouldn't be the best we can get. I would love for Duncan Hunter to run again but barring a miracle, there's no way he's getting the dozens of millions of dollars that will be needed to put on an effective primary (and his party would support Yasser Arafat before it supported him). Romney is an establishment politician, but I really don't see him going out on a fanatical crusade to help the illegals, Arabs, etc. He will probably be a centrist--better than a RINO whore like McCain, and more electable and competent than an idiot like Sarah Palin.

True. And yes these things are disturbing.

Huckabee clearly despises Romney and wanted him to lose in 2008. While Romney was indeed a dreadful candidate, McCain was even worse. Therefore Huckabee's personal vendetta against Romney was very unfortunate.

Huckabee is much too nice to Barack Hussein Osama. But so are the other Republicans. Remember how McCain forbade anyone from using Osama's Muslim middle name of Hussein? Or how McCain kept saying that Osama is "decent", "moral" and a "patriot"? Sarah Palin said that she hopes that G-d blesses Osama in his Presidency! How could this idiot misuse G-d's name to bless a Muslim racist? "God bless Barack Obama and his beautiful family" is what Palin said. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/09/us/politics/09memo.html

Huckabee changed his tune on the "Palestinians" after his tenth and eleventh visits to Israel. As Yaakov Mendel points out above, Huckabee now has stated that there is no "Palestinian" people. Only the Kahanists say that. Scroll down on this article and click on the video and tell me if this is isn't the most pro-Israel Presidential candidate in American history. Here Huckabee says there are no "Palestinians" and that giving up the Golan Heights would be "suicidal". Huckabee also says he can't believe it when he hears Israeli politicians talk about giving up land. Honestly, he sounds like a JTF member in this video:

http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2010/06/14/will-jeff-goldberg-call-for-huckabees-resignation

BTW can someone please make a good copy of that video for us?

DBF - Crush the IDF?  He did no such thing.  Reagan went in there to protect the PLO from the IDF and give Arafat y's a military escort out of Lebanon so the Jews wouldn't kill that hitler.    This is terrible for sure, but not the same as what you said.

That is very relevant to our question.  Aside from the fact that he's the best of the bunch, he also may have the greatest shot at winning.   That's a good combo, no matter what people's reservations might be.

Let's see. Reagan sent the Marines to Lebanon to shield Arafat and forestall the IDF. Do you think those Marines were unarmed? Do you think that if the IDF hadn't pressed onward that the Marines would not have attacked (they should have anyway of course, but that's besides the point)?

This is an awful lot of hairsplitting just to try to make a Nazi president not look quite as bad as he was.

Before 2 years ago you could've said that about a black guy too.

The president is commander-in-chief of the military. A lot of people will keep that in mind when they vote, and will not want a woman in that position. I didn't think even two years ago that Obama's race was a serious problem for him. I think it helped him more than anything.

It is weird that it doesn't bother the people to have a Black Muslim America-hater as commander-in-chief of the US military while they would rule out a true patriotic Christian commander-in-chief because she is a woman.

Maybe you are onto something. If he cannot commit to the "new him" physically, why should we blindly trust his new stands on the issues?
