Ya know... Call me a cynic, but, if this Assange fellow is actually a leftist, could it possibly be that this is a plot engineered by Barak's allies in the US-govt whereby Barak "goes to bat" for them by tugging at the heartstrings of Assange causing him to regret his actions or giving incentive for him to either cease or prevent the process from dragging along?

By saying "your wikileaks prevent the peace process" it may be a way the US govt thinks it can guilt assange into compliance!

And Barak will of course do the bidding of his buddies/masters in Washington with hopes of future political gain and resurrection or renewal of his dying career.
