Suriving the coming nuclear war
« on: September 08, 2014, 11:40:58 PM »
In addition to the tunnel crawlers, we may soon have to face nuclear attack, and by the prophesies, it seems it will happen. Nuclear fall-out is when the nuclear blast picks up small particles in the air, and drops them down. This will happen over a massive area within an hour, so there is no time to get prepared. As such, everyone should have an entire survival kit for one month MINIMUM in their bomb-shelters. Also, Israel no longer holds any grain in reserve, which is a crisis in itself. Everyone should try to build their own silos underground which may be accessed by the bomb shelter, and since grain goes bad every three years, keep rotating the grain so that your supply is always full and you eat the oldest grain first.

It goes without saying that weapons are crucial, and since they're illegal now, you can still buy entire kits and parts and ammo, and store it with working tools in a shelter. This ensures no one can use your guns or prosecute you for them, but you will have access to them in time of crisis.

Despite the high prices of water, it's the most critical investment. Nuclear fall-out will poison all the water systems, and even the deepest sprigs may be fed from a contaminated source. Look no further than the nuclear radiation all over the pacific from the melt-down in Japan for proof. There's no possibility of filtering it through rocks and sand either, because first off it's much too small, and second off you'll also contaminate the rocks and sand. Boiling also will not help, since the particles don't stay at the bottom. Cleaning nuclear radiation requires advanced and extremely expensive equipment. As such, it's a great idea to store as much bottled water as possible, and to keep a salt water pool with fish you can grow with access to the bomb shelter or cellar, and you can eat all the fish and use the water for your excrement, as leaving it in a small room may cause you to die, and I can name many possible causes.

Empty calories and such will be of no use. Keep bottles of lemon (lime is even better) juice, for vitamin C, or you will suffer and die an agonizing death from scurvy. Maple syrup is also OK, and doesn't really go bad. Canned fish is the best way to have protein, so tuna, sardines, salmon, anything in a can, stock up, beans too, but make sure to change the water several times while cooking (it's a small space), and obviously a gas stove is a critical part of any survival kit, not to mention for boiling urine or dirty water, if there's no other choice (if you drink your urine 3 times in a row, you will die, though).

Seems silly, but the worst enemy will be boredom, because you will be induced to go outside and see if it's over yet, which may cost your life. Keep plenty of reading materials and games if you're several people, nothing electronic unless you spend huge sums of money protecting the wiring.

Your shelter must be air-tight, but obviously you need air, and opening the door to a gushing wave of nuclear fall-out will defeat the whole purpose. HEPA filters, and even the most expensive, won't cut it. You will need special micron filters, which are very well described here http://www.ki4u.com/webpal/d_resources/survival/shelterair.htm, but your filter leads to must also be safe from explosions, or again the purpose is defeated, and must have access to air, meaning not at risk to be buried. Running the air ducts through a home or structure that might collapse is a bad idea, and having the ducts visible is also a bad idea, because it can be followed to your shelter, and letting people in or people breaking in means you die like them. These are problems especially for those that have a bomb-shelter or cellar in their house. The air ducts should lead a considerable distance away, and be hidden under plants (that have no risk of clogging it!!) or disguised to look like something no one would notice or touch, or camouflaged if nothing else.

Toilet paper, and this is something you really want to prepare for, will run out, and you won't have the water to waste on doing it India style. That's what I'm working on. What would we do for toilet paper? You do not want an infection down there.

That brings me to anti-biotics. Very important, and not just little ones for tooth aches. Stock up, seriously. Showering at least once a week is extremely important as well. You will need cloths, soap, and a cup of water to shower with. Wipe yourself with the cloth. Limit sexual activity as well, or you will need to do it more frequently, which costs water.

Anyone have anything else to suggest the coming nuclear war? Israel might just get out, but we know 2/3 of the world is prophesied to die, so the rest of the world, Europe and population centers of America in particular.

I forgot to mention humidity=death, humidity=breathing. A dehumidifier might be incapacitated. You need an air pump that you won't need electricity for, which you can make yourself http://www.ki4u.com/webpal/d_resources/survival/kap/kap.htm

Keep in mind that this isn't a pleasantry. If Yershua is right about that 3000 Jews left figure, you should intend to be one of them. Don't talk about a shelter beyond learning, build it.

Actually the figure given by the Chessed l'Avraham
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Azulai
is 6000 (according to some opinions 7000) Jews left alive in Eretz Yisrael when the Moshiach comes.

I forgot to mention light. Nuclear fall-out will black out the sky, and you don't want to get cut or worse due to lack of visibility. Candles consume air needlessly, and create heat, which means humidity so the best would be a kerosene lanterns. Stock up on kerosene, for that and also fuel for a gas stove.

Actually the figure given by the Chessed l'Avraham is 6000 (according to some opinions 7000) Jews left alive in Eretz Yisrael when the Moshiach comes.

Looks like the post is already having some effect : )

That in no way changes the gravity of the situation, and those are likely going to be the 6-7000 who saw the obvious future that our prophets explicitly warned about. According to the opinion of all these Rabbis then, those who do not have a stocked and armed shelter will die. And when it comes to nuclear radiation or muslim hordes, either death is equally terrible.

Also, if you love your pet, love yourself more. Pet dander and fur will eventually clog your air ducts, and you will die. Besides that, cats and dogs carry all kinds of diseases, and those will also kill you.

If someone does die in your shelter, you will need to dispose of the body. It is very wise to have a separate waste room that can be sealed. This is also good for excrement, and food wastes (fish bones, wrappers with traces of food, etc.) You may want fresh meat, and as such, having several edible birds that can survive in captivity is good. They will consume the insects that come from the wastes, which kills two birds with one stone. This must be prepared in advance, because wild birds rarely survive in captivity. If you have the space and want a more enjoyable apocalypse, breed captive birds now, and have them live in the shelter.

You can conserve electronic devices in a lead safe, so keep mp3 players loaded with songs and divrei Torahyot, and of course a radio so you can find out if it's safe to leave, along with electric razers (more hair=more sweat= more humidity) and even radioactivity detectors if at all possible, and lights. There are hand-pumped chargers for batteries, which should also be kept there.

I would think that for light it would be preferable to use a light stick, not a kerosene lantern which also generates heat and consumes oxygen...

When I was young my step-father told me he helped to develop these non-flamable, no-heat light sticks.

I believe the name of the product at that time was 'Cylume' or something like that.

A stock-pile of those would be great, agreed.

Finally, if you are a good-hearted person, love yourself more. Anyone outside your shelter is likely contaminated, as well as their clothes, and you will die if you let them in. Try to have your shelter away from view, so no one attempts to get in, and if someone does try, don't make a noise, or they'll try harder, unless they keep trying, and then shoot them if they breach and re-seal.

If you have a radioactivity suit, then you can go out an make runs (close the seal to the door fast, and have a code that ensures your fellow survivors will know it's you), if you don't, eat the weakest among you, don't spend hours walking around and searching, or your flesh will be radioactive and not consumable, and you will most likely die shortly. If you are going to have someone to make runs, it will be a sacrifice, and he can not step foot into your shelter unless you have a decontamination area and you can burn the clothes, which is expensive.

Iodine is great to store, and good for disinfection, and treating radioactivity poisoning. Keep a stockpile. If you do have radioactivity poisoning, the best thing to get it out of you is exercise. The humidity can wait for the more severe life risk. Lots of cardio is in order.

Anything with selenium is great against radioactivity poisoning, like Brazil nuts. Potassium Orotate is also great, and is in bananas. Dried fruits, like bananas, will store and keep you alive.

Other remedies: http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/natural-remedies-for-radiation-exposure/

Honey will reduce the sores that form on the flesh from radioactivity poisoning, and stores well http://www.bastyrcenter.org/content/view/390/

You do not want open flesh from sore to get infected, and get one of a billion problems from that, so lots of gauze and medical tape is great, in case your shelter doesn't work as planned.

Teas are also great to make your water more fun, and save you from an agonizing death from radioactivity poisoning. Black tea is great against it http://www.safespaceprotection.com/Healthy-Tips-Article/healthy-tips-anti-radiation-diet.aspx

If you have pregnant women, that is going to be a big problem. Make sure you can do a blood transfusion (KNOW your blood types, have access to medical equipment), and that you have food that can be mashed up and consumed by a baby. Diapers will not likely be possible, so make sure you have some method of washing clothes, and AJAX or some detergent to do it with.

Three common sense points:

Talking and movement consumes energy which wastes food. Limit it.

Talking about your shelter to other people means they may try to get in. Don't be a show-off.

Smoking will contaminate your air ducts, and will continuously recontaminate your environment. Second-hand smoke has a different effect than first-hand, and will make you one of a hundred kinds of sick in time. Keep sniffing tobacco for smokers, if necessary. You don't want a nicotine-deprived person doing something stupid.

Considering the tunneling muslims, make sure your shelter is impenetrable from the bottom as well as the top.

Not a joke. If you do not believe that 2/3 of the world's population will die in the near future, take your bible, and throw it in the garbage, because it's not joking, and better you treat it as trash than a joke.

This isn't personal. You will almost certainly die if you do not have a shelter and have a plan and a back-up plan for every possibility. Living is good. And there's too many prepper sites that are Alex Jones leftists, and I really won't like to live in a world where everyone thinks that aliens did it.

Also, for before, a dehumidifier and an electric air pump can be stored in a lead safe. Of course, your whole shelter should be lead, but you don't want to risk everything because of a hole.

Good luck LKZ... Most people, myself included, do not have what we need to survive like this. It is good to be as prepared as one can be, but we had best work on preventing such a holocaust if we can.

The scenario of Armaggedon is not assured. Rather the Torah envisions two possible approaches to the coming age. While it is true the signs of this path are evident, there is still hope that we can avoid it.

Dude seriously your first sentence is so offensive. If you were going out trying to make Ba'al teshuva yourself you would have people turn into haters of religion. You don't have to take everything to the ultra extreme(telling people to destroy their bible is psychotic). Honestly, I would not spend my life preparing for a nuclear war and if you're dead you're dead what does it matter to spend the short amount of time left in the world in a bomb shelter. The end of the world is what 9 minutes long?

G-d forbid that I would ever advocate even slightly defacing a bible. I meant ending the knowledge and belief in its perfection, and therefore saying that there's a problem with Torah which G-d didn't mean and then what is any book that was written by any men worth to you?

People don't like hearing about bad things at all from political organizations, because there's so many people that say give up, and any turning from "everything will be ok" will make a lot of people avoid you, because they like having hope. People want to hear that you can do what they need, not that the other guy will ruin everything, and if you do have to say that, it should be secondary (at least in "corporate image").

99% of the people on the planet are not prepared for a attack, for a war or for a nature disaster. If you think about it, we are the dumb ones. There was this great programme about it on Discovery or National Geographic but i forgot the name.

I've been thinking about it and I think it might be guaranteed to happen. It would take a miracle to make many self-hating Jews make teshuva, fine, but there are some that hate Torah so much, Hashem could come down and tell them to keep shabbat, and they wouldn't budge. That's not counting on miracles, it's counting on Hashem to violate free-will, which can't happen. So long as you do not have a bomb shelter with every probable issue accounted for, you are counting on miracles at best, since you have no right to risk your life, and at worst, you're counting on an impossibility. What you think Ellen Degenerate is going to become a righteous goy, and Henry Kissinger a Chassid? It's less work to build a thousand bomb shelters than to get either of them to say G-d without a grimace or spit.

I hereby declare the JTF prepper club!

Oh and that sentence I said before was serious too. In any political communications, warning about how bad the others are should be secondary [or not there at all] to how great your plans are.

Apocalyptic warnings that were supposed to arrive have already started coming:
---------------------------------------------------
Raging Floods Kill Over 440 in Pakistan, India:

Raging monsoon floods sweeping across India and Pakistan have killed more than 440 people, authorities said Tuesday, warning hundreds of thousands more to be prepared to flee their homes as helicopters and boats raced to save marooned victims.

Authorities in Pakistan say the floods, which began Sept. 3, are the worst since massive flooding killed 1,700 people in 2010. Pakistan's minister for water and power, Khwaja Mohammad Asif, warned parliament that some 700,000 people have been told to leave their homes, which could be inundated in the next four days.

Pakistani and Indian troops have been using boats and helicopters to drop food supplies for stranded families and evacuate victims. However, the challenge of the situation grows as more than 1.5 million people are now affected as the rushing waters have destroyed the homes of thousands of families.

"This is a sad moment for all of us," Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said, addressing flood victims in the country's Hafiz district. "These floods came suddenly and no one knew that such a large flood was coming."

The floods have triggered landslides in the divided Kashmir region, split between the two arch rivals, and caused much devastation in northern and eastern Pakistan.

The rains washed away houses, bridges, communication equipment and crops. Pakistani and Indian troops say they have evacuated more than 60,000 people.

The formation of muslamic caliphate, eukranian war and spread of ebola can be considered to be the other small but evil warnings.
