 In case so others don't misunderstand. Solomon did not marry any sisters (as the Torah was given already as well). Not sisters from same father nor from same mother. He did marry many wives which a King is forbidden to do (more than 18 for a King). Technically no limit for another man.

Didn't Islam steal that also? They said Mohammad could have 18 wives and 6 concubines. But then they said ordinary Muslims could only have 4 wives. Is that correct?

They also stole "4 wives" thing from us. It's not in the Torah, but Talmud mentions it.

What I've noticed is that this thread is about some triplets from IDF. Why are we discussing polygamy again? Is this Tag Mehir Tzedik's favorite topic?

 No, only source that mentions 4 is the Koran. Only for a King their is an 18 wife limit.

Talmud in Yevamot 44a mentions that it is not good for a man to marry more than four wives because, otherwise, his obligation of onah would be reduced. It is confirmed by Shulkhan Aruch. Technically, it is not ideal to marry more than one wife at all (unless some serious causes such as Yibbum, infertility, or insanity), and Torah actually discourages polygamy.

Anyway, why do you support polygamy so fanatically? It's one thing to argue whether it's permitted or not, but you often try to encourage it. You do know that most polygamous marriages described in Torah led to disastrous consequences, right? There is no "go ahead and marry more wives" sentiment presented in Torah. It's just tolerated but not sanctioned.

 Where did or do I promote it? The topic comes up and I just say the Halacha.
