The only thing that comes to mind is the Talmudic dictum. "A lunatic is absolved from the Torah".
So, if he truly is insane, he doesn't have to keep the Torah.
That's all that comes to mind.
I guess that lets neturei karta off the hook.
Well, some of them are nuts and some are not.
In all seriousness, are there clear Talmudic destinctions between crazy, stupid and evil?
Someone who is evil is the ultimate stupid person becuase of what awaits him in the next worls for sure.( maybe sooner).
yes, crazy is a disease where one doesnt have a choice, evil and stupid is a choice.
I phrased that question badly.
I mean in the case of a really twisted self-hater who thinks EY should be surrendered to arabs and Jews should assimilate and not keep the mitzvot.......
Is he cosidered:
1/ stupid for not understanding the Devine election of the Jews?
2/ Evil for wanting to destroy the Jews as a nation?
Or 3/ crazy because of 2000 years of diaspora and anti-semitism making him a self-hater in the first place?
