Finally, our great members are being called upon to act in our effort to get Chaim Ben Pesach into the Land of Israel.
G-d willing, we are starting with a simple e-mail campaign to Knesset (Israeli Parliament) members.
Below you will find the e-mail addresses of 50 Knesset members from the Likud, Shas, Yisrael Beitenu, National Union-National Religious Party, and the Torah Judaism party (Agudah).
Please send an e-mail to all 50 of these Knesset members following these guidelines:
1. You can send one e-mail to all 50 of these Knesset members at once. But it should be sent to all 50 of the addresses as "Blind Copies" or "BCC". This way each Knesset member will not see the names of the other 49 Knesset members who are receiving the same e-mail at the same time. This is important because if Knesset members see that they are only one on a list of 50 people receiving the same e-mail, they are much less likely to respond. Therefore, you can place all 50 e-mail addresses in the "BCC" section to blind copy them.
2. If you want to send the e-mails seperately to all 50 Knesset members, that takes much more time, but it is more effective. The decision on how to do this is yours.
3. Every e-mail must be short and to the point. Knesset members and their staff will not read long e-mails.
4. Every e-mail should include Chaim's Hebrew and English names. You should make it clear that you are writing on behalf of Chaim Ben Pesach, whose English name is Victor Vancier.
5. You must be polite. E-mails with threats, crude language or extremist talk will not be answered by the Knesset staff members.
6. If G-d willing you receive any responses, please send them to me in a private message. You can also share them with our other members by copying them onto this thread on the forum.
7. Our goal is to get back positive responses from Knesset members or their staff. If we do, G-d willing, these messages might be used as part of Chaim's appeal to the Interior Minister.
8. You do not have to use your real name in sending these e-mails. We are starting by sending out e-mails with just usernames. It is less effective, but we will try this first. If someone wishes to use their real name, they of course can do so.
9. After briefly explaining Chaim's situation, and how unjust it is, the only thing that you request is that the Knesset members respond by e-mail to give their opinion on the matter. Do not request any other action from the Knesset members, because if you do, it makes a response much less likely.
10. The vast majority of Knesset members will NOT respond. Getting anonymous e-mails in English from the United States is not likely to get much of a response from Knesset members or their staff. But this is just a first step by us to make the Knesset members and their staff familiar with Chaim's case.
You can share with us not only any responses, G-d willing, but also what you wrote or what you suggest that others write.
