A response to Rabbi Reuven's anti-Noahide video
« on: November 17, 2022, 12:29:00 AM »
https://youtu.be/nh80TE2wF70

Reuven's recent video claims "there is no Noahide community." Whoever knows Torah Law knows the terms B'nei Noah, Children of Noah, Gentiles and non-Jews are synonyms. There is no Torah Law difference between a Noahide and a Gentile (the Divine Code by Rabbi Weiner, 2nd edition, p 27; 3rd edition, p 24; 4th edition, p 24). There are far more Noahide communities in the world than Jewish communities.

He accuses Chabad shluchim of being "after people's money." Does Reuven think Gentiles need the permission of Chabad schluchim to establish communities, or his permission?

Reuven says "Hashem does not want the Noahides to have communities." Why, then, are Gentiles commanded to set up proper Gentile judges and Gentile law enforcement officers?

He always tells people "do whatever you can to be a Jew." This means he always tells Gentiles to give up their identity. Here is a smattering of Jewish Rabbis who oppose his approach:

"Someone who does not desire to accept Torah and mitzvot, should not be forced to" (Maimonides, Laws of Kings 8:10).

"One who does not want to convert is not obligated to accept upon himself the Torah and the 613 commandments" (the Divine Code by Rabbi Weiner, 2nd edition, p 64).

"In the same manner God also needs in His kingdom of humanity both Jews and non-Jews. Jew and non-Jew each has his own calling and his own law, and God’s sublime purpose will be attained only if each one, Jew and non-Jew, will gladly and faithfully carry out that calling and obey that law which God has set for him, and in so doing will make his own contribution to the common good as God expects him to do" (Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch).

"I think that everyone would agree that there is nothing wrong with feeling proud of who you are. There is nothing wrong with diversity. God created a magnificent world, a wondrous panorama of colors, forms and personalities. Today we recognize that this diversity is so essential to the nature of things that anyone who tries to struggle against it is fighting against the sustainability of life itself" (Rabbi Tzvi Freeman).

Reuven thinks "it is much easier to deal with the difficulties of being a Jew." This is a lie. Jewish obligations are more restrictive and numerous (the Divine Code by Rabbi Weiner, 2nd edition, p 26). More restrictive and numerous is the opposite of easier.

He says "there is no spiritual connection between one Noahide and another." Please let this arrogant statement sink in. No spiritual connection between a Gentile husband and a Gentile wife? Between a Gentile mother and a Gentile child?

Reuven states there is no permission "to make Noahides a priority over Jews." In other words, Jews are more important than the Gentiles he hates so much. If Noahides are not important to him, why does Reuven waste his time making a video slandering our communities?

Thankfully, Reuven does not have a say in the Noahide world. This is a theoretical video made by a theoretician in a theoretical way.
Gentiles are obligated to fulfill the Seven Noahide Commandments because they are the eternal command of God, transmitted through Moses our teacher in the Torah. The main and best book on details of Noahide observance is "The Divine Code" by Rabbi Moshe Weiner.

I will never, never, never betray my Gentile nation by joining the Jewish nation. If Reuven dislikes that, tough.

He is an idiot & does not speak for the majority of rabbis who hold just the opposite of what he was saying.  I would not pay too much attention to him & continue listening & learning from the rabbis that you are rather than taking this jerk to heart!!!

I realize I haven't posted here in a very long while, but I beg indulgence to make a few comments.

I have great respect for Rabbi Re'uven.  He speaks the unpalatable truth and gets a lot of people angry, but that is what we need in these times.  He also has a source for everything he says, which is most important and which many do not.  I often listen to his talks and intend to continue to do so, and I have also contributed money to his organization.  Whatever his faults may be, he is doing an important job that every Torah-true rabbi should be doing, but unfortunately is not.

Now, about the video: We all know that it is forbidden for Noahides to create new religions, holidays, or rituals for themselves (which is very hard for a perhaps-autistic obsessive-compulsive calendar nerd to refrain from doing), but G-d makes the rules and not we.  If we argue that homosexuality violates a Divine commandment, we cannot reject another commandment that while seemingly very different is based on the exact same authority.

I am somewhat puzzled by one thing: if he gives no time to Noahides (which isn't true, as he has Noahide followers and students) AND encourages those attracted to HaShem to fully convert, he begins to sound like that guy who says Judaism commands the conversion of the whole world to Judaism proper.  But this is definitely not what he is saying, so the question becomes if he deals almost exclusively with Jews and encourages interested non-Jews to convert to Judaism, what about all those millions and billions of non-Jews who don't know about the Noahide laws and whose neshamot are in danger of Ge' Hinnom?  That is certainly an important matter.

But anyway, I just wanted to state that I continue to highly respect Rabbi Re'uven and think he deserves respect from all who love HaShem and Torah for the wonderful work he does getting out the unpalatable truth in a world when so many remain silent.

Also, I actually began the process of conversion once and if I were able, I would gladly do so.  Unfortunately, I live in the hinterland and am disabled, and also some of my mental quirks pretty much assure that I would worry myself to death over whether or not I had done everything right.  Shoot, I do this even as a Noahide!

G-d bless you all and all who fight for HaShem.

Brother, he is commanded by Torah Law to compel Gentiles to accept the Noahide laws, not encourage them to convert to Judaism.

I express my deepest thanks to my holy teacher, Rabbi Dr. Michael Schulman, who read my response and sent this message:

BS"D

Dear Robert,

I hope that this will open up the eyes of some of his Noahide followers!

Thanks for your posted response!

With appreciation,

Michael Schulman
