Well, I drive a Geo Metro (3cyl 1.0L), I average close to 50 mpg, and payed $1,700 for it :D I don't know why GM won't build them anymore, they would sell like hotcakes now. 5 years ago you couldn't give that car away for free, not they're selling like hotcakes in the private market.

That's because Saturn salesmen don't work off of commission. One thing to know about Saturn is that the price of the car is non-negotiable but the entire purchase is negotiable. With that, you can negotiate extras for the dealer to throw in such as free loaner cars when they need servicing and major services such as the 30k and 50k services.
Does it bother you that you have to face the dome and the rock to say the sh'ma?

Marino, I think Takebackourtemple and Lisa are right.  I just bought a Saab 9.3 with the sports package.  I have spoken to many people and all said nothing but praise especially in the used car market.  The car sells for about $55-60k new (Canada prices) but in 2 years the resale is half with usually about 30-40k miles on them which is nothing.  My friend David said they are diamonds and very under rated.  For example, his Saab has over 310k miles on it and all he does is change the oil and same clutch with very minor servicing.

My insurance broker said the same.  She too gave me an additional 5% off because the Saabs won some international prize for top safety ratings, from 2003-2007.  I believe Volvo is similar because she said that they too offer the 5% off as well.  These are the only two cars in that class that have such a rating which affects ones insurance.  Also, now that it is American owned and European made you get the quality of the Euopeans while still supporting "American Made/Owned".

Which BMW model has something better than 48 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway?  And please don't give me the model of a motorcycle.

Hybrids have the best gas mileage available.

Dude, get what you want..I'm just saying, the jury isn't out yet on these so called Hybrids..don't know how safe they are and if they are truely "gas efficient."  Try out the Prius.

I think you mean the jury is "still" out, right? :)

Sorry, I love oil.  I dispise Islam, Socialism/Communism and their elitists cohorts.  If one throws a rock through your window, one doesn't blame the rock but the thrower.  Therefore descimate Islam, Communism (as McCarthy, Goldwater and MacArthur wished) and publically execute their elitist CFR (and like) supporting "globalist" supporters.  There are many good and needed products and bi-products from the petrolium industry.  My two cents, in agreement with Massah on this specific topic.

Spot-on, Marzutra.

Hondas and Acuras are no better than American cars. That is just BS that the self hating moozy media has told us. They always want to make it seem that foreign things are always better. Cadillacs, Hummers and Lincolns are all great cars and can hold their own with all the foreign stuff.  I have had probs with jap stuff and domestic cars have been rock solid for me.

Media? I don't know about that. I just know from my own personal experiences as well as my parents' and friends' experiences as well.

Marino, I'm an ex used car salesman and take it from me there are only 3 makes to even look at: TOYOTA, HONDA, or SUBARU..........no exceptions.

For reliability , longevity, re-sale and quality you just can't do better.

That explains a lot!

So did you have to install the hydraulics pumps every time you sold a car to a schvartze? ;)

I like Toyota the best. My dad bought one in 1992 and in 2002. Japanese cars are the best. European cars are crummy. They are too small like the Italian and French cars in Israel. But German cars are bigger but are Nazi. Unfortunately, Israel buys buses from Germany. Japanese cars in Israel seem to be smaller than their counterpart in America. Israel doesn't make its own cars but used to make one.

what are you talking about?  Japanese cars don't last..and European cars last a looong time!

For myself and my folks, it has been the other way around. When I was a kid, they had two Volkswagon Rabbits (Yes, I know, please forgive them) which constantly were constantly having problems. Then they got two Mazdas which lasted a really loooong time. Now, my mom has a Suburu Outback and my father has a Honda Element and I just bought a Honda Civic. The Japenese cars seem to be the most reliable. As long as you keep chaging the oil every three months, the cars will virtually last forever.

I would make safety the number one priority. It appears that BMW vehicles are either all wheel drive(which means poor fuel economy) or rear wheel drive which means they handle horribly in rain and snow. I'm sure amazed with how expensive the BMWs are.
Too bad we can't buy Israeli cars. If Israel manufactured them, they would be the best on the road.
They'd probably be Israeli (Jewish) owned and assembled by the Arab/Muslim Savages similar as the situation in Detroit.... ;)

A smile for your car shopping:

I forgot to mention that the Saab 9.3Arc gets between 40-45mpg which is very reasonable.  Thanks Scriabin for your seconding my opinion... ;)

I'm thinking about the Infiniti G35 Coupe... I found one used for a reasonable amount of  money,  right in my neighborhood!
The place is called Major World on Northern Blvd.

Yeah, that's a nice car.

The 08' model has 330 horsepower and the 07' model has 306.  ;)

Infinity is good if you like the Asian stuff.  I'd never buy a ford. At least with a Jaguar you get a car...lol  By the way, is not the price of a G35 comparable to a used XK8?

Yeah.  Fords (all american cars for that matter) aren't what they used to be.

All British auto electrical systems used to be made by the Lucas company. Joe Lucas used to be called 'the prince of darkness'.

A wonderful stereo, of course...but even more important than that, in my opinion is a quiet ride.  Too many cars have excessive road noise.  The quiet cockpit is where its at.

I'm getting it for around  $23,000 from 2005, it's a great deal I think!

How many miles?

Is it a coupe or a sedan?

27K miles - coupe - white on beige interior. It's sort of a good deal so I'm must act quickly or so I was told...
