“Which is why we need to solve policing. And not keep ignoring it until the next explosion.”

Al Sharpton is firmly placing blame on police officers for being the root cause in black rioting for the last 50 years.

Speaking to radio host Tom Jorner on his morning show Wednesday, Sharpton said:

If you think of Watts 50 years ago, if you think of South Central with Rodney King, all of the violence we have seen all the way to today in Baltimore and Ferguson has usually been sparked by police violence.

He then added, “When people feel that those that are sworn to protect them, they can no longer trust, that is when they explode.”

In customary fashion, Sharpton didn’t miss his chance to include the other factor present in the cause of black violence: poverty. He said this type of violence is “driven by unemployment and poverty.”

“Watts should remind us that this is nothing new,” he said.

As for a solution, Sharpton suggests solving all the problems with law enforcement will have a proportional effect and turn the tide on rioting:
