Ted Cruz to Establishment RINO Chris Christie: ‘Go Back to the Beach’

The war of words between establishment RINO and record-setting unpopular New Jersey Governor Chris Christine and Texas Senator Ted Cruz ratched up in an interview published on Friday in the NY Times.

Responding to Chris Christie’s false smear of Ted Cruz where he accused the constitutional conservative of being a hypocrite for opposing the pork-laden Superstorm Sandy relief funds but now supports a relief aid package for his home state, Cruz responded with an uppercut.

Cruz said that Christie should “go back to the beach,” a shot at the public relations disaster known as “Beachgate,” in which the bloated big government Republican Christie was photographed leisurely soaking up rays at the Jersey Shore beach that had been shut down for the general public, an optic that reeked of elitism.

Taking a shot Chris Christie’s lack of being relative, Ted Cruz told The Times that he was “quite confident that nobody in Texas gives a flip what Chris Christie has to say,” while adding, “And it seems not many people in New Jersey do either.”

Ted Cruz was no doubt referring to Chris Christie’s abysmal record-low approval rating in New Jersey of only 15 percent. When asked to comment on the rating, Christie responded, “I don’t care.”

Cruz previously received similar attacks from another East Coast RINO, NY Congressman Peter King , who has an “F” Liberty Score at Conservative Review, 30% out of a possible 100%.

As the NY Post reported on December 15, 2012, the Sandy relief boondoggle included funding like $150 million for Alaska fisheries, $5.2 million for the Obama Department of Justice, and $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution in DC, which was unaffected by the hurricane.

Cruz in response to Pete King’s criticism, Cruz explained that two-thirds of the relief bill for Hurricane Sandy was pork:

“As I said at the time, hurricane funding is a very important federal responsibility and I would have eagerly supported funding for that. But I didn’t think it was appropriate to engage in pork-barrel spending where two-thirds of that bill was unrelated spending that had nothing to do with Sandy and was simply politicians wasting money.”

“That shouldn’t happen. The focus of emergency relief shouldn’t be cynical politicians trying to fund their pet projects. It should be providing relief to people in crisis.”

Speaking of Chris Christie, Steve Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, said in an interview with “60 Minutes” that Christie was taken out of consideration for a Cabinet in the Trump White House spot for not standing by the Republican nominee after the damaging “Access Hollywood” tape surfaced last October.
