Because Donald Trump has no self control when it comes to his ego. Is that who you want as president with the ability to launch nuclear warheads?

Donald Trump’s aides have taken control of his Twitter account days before Tuesday’s election, according to The New York Times. 

“I’m on message,” Trump told The Times. “I’m not playing around.”

The Times report cited “interviews with dozens of aides, operatives, supporters and advisers, many of whom were granted anonymity to describe moments and conversations that were intended to be confidential.”

Hope Hicks, a Trump spokeswoman, took a Trump proposed tweet Thursday, edited, and posted it, according to the report.

“Taking away Twitter turned out to be an essential move by his press team, which deprived him of a previously unfiltered channel for his aggressions,” The Times wrote.

Trump’s Twitter account, @realDonaldTrump,  boasts 13 million followers and has often been a bombastic platform for his oft-criticized rhetoric during his roller-coaster presidential campaign.

Trump surrogate Newt Gingrich has criticized his candidate’s use of Twitter in October, famously saying “he ought to quit tweeting by himself.” 

Also, “Saturday Night Live” parodied Trump’s use of Twitter with a sketch this week.
