Trump Campaign Manager Rick Wiley Leaves After Only a Month

Donald Trump fires his National Political Director over “loyalty” clash, sources say.

Longtime political strategist Rick Wiley has left Donald Trump’s White House effort after coming aboard last month “on a short-term basis until the campaign was running full steam,” the campaign said Wednesday.

… “We would like to thank Rick for helping us during this transition period,” the statement said.

Wiley was hired as Trump’s national campaign director, after serving in a similar position for former rival Scott Walker, who is Wisconsin’s governor.

He also worked for both the Wisconsin Republican Party and the Republican National Committee.

Wiley oversaw the RNC’s $178 million budget in 2012 and worked on Mitt Romney’s campaign in 2012.

He also served on President George W. Bush’s re-election bid in 2004 and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s run four years later.

“Rick is a seasoned political expert with a very successful career in winning elections,” Trump said in a statement when Wiley joined the campaign last month. “He brings decades of experience, and his deep ties to political leaders and activists across the country will be a tremendous asset as we enter the final phase of securing the nomination.”
