The top thing in making teshuva is kosher food. It's impossible to be really holy if your blood and body is made from unholy things.
Don't try to rush everything. Start by saying Shema, one quick prayer, before you go to sleep. From this, keep learning, and everything will come, including showers of blessings.
You aren't going to be a saint right the next second, but so long as you remember you're not doing the mitzvot to become an idol, but as an opportunity to connect with Hashem, and through that, you will see the merit to do more, and become a tzadik, B"H.
