As reported by Evan Williams of Great Britain’s Channel 4 news service on Oct. 1, 2015, the [Islamic State] terrorist organization is literally giving children an offer they can’t refuse.

Perhaps taking their cue from the 14th century Muslim warlord Tamerlane, who was known for his penchant of butchering a lone villager to keep the rest of the village in line, present day ISIS has somewhat modified his method of ensuring domestic tranquility. As reported by Williams, ISIS operatives in Syria have no reservation whatsoever leaving a child who refuses to saddle up with the jihadists “in driving pain, poverty and despair for the rest of his life”.

Case in point was a boy identified only as “Omar,” who actually screwed up enough personal courage to refuse the demands of the local Islamist militia. But to let other children in the area understand they were no one to be trifled with, they tied Omar down, then proceeded to hack off a hand and foot.

As reported, the example of Omar’s searing pain and sheer terror served its purpose. No one says no to ISIS, especially the children. Williams also made a point of citing the normality of life in the ISIS caliphate as a soldier of Allah: At least by the age of 16, all are expected to join ISIS; “either as spies, fighters or suicide bombers.”

Another example was a former ISIS-approved primary school teacher identified as “Emil.” As intimated, she was responsible for the indoctrination of girls as young as 10 to accept suicide missions as “part of their religious duty.” Emil also cited that she and other teachers instructed the girls that they should rush to die for ISIS, because they would all die as martyrs engaged in jihad if they did so, and go to straight to heaven as a result.”

Other children described how part of their school lessons were how to spy on their own families. Specific instructions were to “inform on relatives and parents who do not support ISIS.”

Yet such acts of depravity aren’t isolated nor the exception to the rule. Andrew Buncombe of London’s The Independent newspaper reported on Feb. 5, 2015, that ISIS purposefully used children afflicted with what formerly was known as mental retardation as either human bombers and/or sex slaves. Quoting Renate Winter, a member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, “We have had reports of children, especially children who are mentally challenged, who have been used as suicide bombers, most probably without them even understanding.”

According to Winter, children from the minority Christian and Yazidi areas are specifically targeted for abduction to be sold off as sex slaves. But for those not deemed worthy of the auction block, they were routinely dispatched by various means of execution, to include crucifixion and burying them alive.
