Another court rules against coach that was fired for praying
But the court has no problem teaching elementary school children about the “Five Pillars of Islam” or teaching 4 year old children about “gender reassignment”.
Coach Joe Kennedy, who was let go in 2015 after he refused to comply with an unconstitutional order by the school to stop praying on the football field after games, has suffered a second defeat in the courts – this time at the infamous 9th circuit:
CBN NEWS – The praying high school football coach from Washington state has suffered another legal defeat.
A federal appeals court agreed with a lower court’s ruling not to allow Coach Joe Kennedy to return to his job at a Washington high school.
The Bremerton School District dismissed Coach Kennedy after he refused to stop praying at mid-field after football games.
Kennedy is suing the district on religious freedom grounds.
He also sought a ruling against the district because he wanted to return to work until the suit is decided.
Wednesday, a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, one of the most liberal courts in the country, ruled against the coach.
Coach Kennedy says the prayers were purely a voluntary post-game option for students who wanted to participate.
But Judge Milan Smith wrote for the court that Kennedy “took advantage of his position to press his particular views upon the impressionable and captive minds before him.”
The whole case is ridiculous. The school wasn’t bullied into submission by one of these legal atheist groups. No, they decided on their own that praying on the 50-yard line after a game is wrong and tried to force the coach to stop.
What the heck does it hurt for a football coach to lead his players, who are there voluntarily, in prayer? NOTHING. And it’s not against the Constitution to do so either. These liberal courts that keep ruling against Kennedy are filled with nothing but activist judges who apparently believe in authoritarianism, because that’s what their rulings amount to.
I hope that Kennedy keeps pushing this all the way to the Supreme Court, because this case is really a big deal when it comes to religious liberty. These anti-religious totalitarians at his school need to be slapped down by the courts, otherwise their oppression against Christian teachers and coaches will do nothing but increase.
