Dems release Colin Powell email advising Hillary on how to AVOID reporting requirements

colin-powell-hillary-clintonSo the Dems seem to have outsmarted themselves here – they released emails from Hillary and Colin Powell in an attempt to substantiate her claim that he taught her how to avoid reporting requirements.

And it does seem to show that.

But doesn’t that prove that she was trying to avoid reporting requirements?

From the Wall Street Journal:

The newly released emails appear to show Mr. Powell, who served as secretary of state between 2001 and 2005 under President George W. Bush, acknowledging he exchanged work-related emails with foreign leaders and State Department officials using a personal computer or by corresponding with the personal accounts of senior government staffers. The setup enabled Mr. Powell’s correspondence to bypass the government’s computer network, he said.

“I didn’t have a BlackBerry. What I did do was have a personal computer that was hooked up to a private phone line (sounds ancient.) So I could communicate with a wide range of friends directly without it going through the State Department servers,” Mr. Powell wrote to Mrs. Clinton, now the Democratic nominee for president.

“I even used it to do business with some foreign leaders and some of the senior folks in the Department on their personal email accounts. I did the same thing on the road in hotels,” he said.

Yeah, OK, that sounds kinda problematic. But if he was doing this to avoid reporting requirements, she took his advice and pumped it full of meth and steroids when she got her own email server.

How do you go from, “how can I use my blackberry?!?” to “let’s have a dedicated email server in my personal bathroom so that I can have absolute control over my emails and later erase them with bleach and a hammer”?

I really think the Dems kinda shot themselves in the foot here.

Powell is offering her friendly advice, but he’s not telling her to break the law:

Mr. Powell appeared aware of the potential for public release, warning Mrs. Clinton about her use of a BlackBerry for government work.

“There is a real danger. If it is public that you have a BlackBerry and it it (sic) government and you are using it, government or not, to do business, it may become an official record and subject to the law… Be very careful. I got around it all by not saying much and not using systems that captured the data.”

And if he is, then screw it, drag his dumb Obama before Congress too. That he did it is no excuse for her misleading the public and putting our security in danger!
