I think it's because there are a lot of people out there who are sex deprived and all of the movies and tv shows out there are a big tease.

It might also be due to the poor sex lives of many married people.

Might I suggest a solution to my fellow Jews who are married or plan on getting married:  Niddah.  Meaning, don't have sex during her menstruation and the additional 7 days after not a drop of blood is found...it will be like one's wedding night...(as has been described to me...i personally don't know myself)

 Yepp keeping the laws of Family Purity is very very important. First off keeping it properly (being seperated and then the women going to the Mikva) besides the great spiritual benifits (which shouldn't be minimized) will also keep the relationship going very well, and keep one from hating one's wife, and being bored from her. During the time their would be longing for eachother. Also the kids prodoced will be much better towrds their parents then if a women doesn't go to Mikva after the period and has children. It would be very hard for the children not to be rebillious towards their parents.
  Also having relations with a nidda is a very graze sin that should be avoided at all costs, the couple can get Karet (excommunicated by G-d), G-d forbid for someone to do this upon themselves.

I read that the porn industry is actually losing money because of the internet. People can look at porn for free online.

Far from the truth, most porn companies market through advertisements, spam, and free TGP sites (with sample videos, pictures, etc.), the majority of the income is actually from Video On Demand websites where you pay for minutes and then are able to view those videos streaming. VOD is relatively difficult to get access to for free since the streams are encoded and it's all server side. The companies that are losing money aren't necessarily the porn companies but the publishers.

Porn is a pretty big business online, it's not like it used to be where you had to go to blockbuster and go to the adult section looking for something, internet has made it widespread.

I don't support pornography, then again, what people do in their own spare time is not my concern. I don't think we need the government regulating what people can and can't look at, when I become a parent, I will find my own ways to prevent my kids from looking at it.

Maybe it is making money, I don't know.

Maybe? I can get you links if you like showing their profits, I think it's worth more than the gaming industry which is pretty big.

Yes it is very surprising. I had know idea you were in web hosting, marketing and video on demand. You certainly didn't make that clear in your original reply to me.  Today our society has it soo good, and their is no excuse not to go to a kosher Mikva, which is clean and safe. Back in the day, even maybe 2 generations ago, women would go to freezing waters in Russia, or into deep caves where their was a body of natural water, in order not to commit the sin of being with their husbands not clean. Anyway the obligation is both on the Wife and Husband, it is very important not to mess us in this sin expecially. (Maybe I will bring some writing on this subject, B"H)

well, a proper rabbinical authority or a female version of a rabbinical authority shoudl address this. If it were my wife, I wouldn't want her to get infections..

The porn industry wants us to believe that they are so huge, and that everyone or almost everyone is looking at their filth. In reality, the largest and most viewed sites on the internet are NOT porn sites. Porn sites trail far behind news sites, for example.

Porn is an addiction like drugs or alcohol or gambling or overeating. Addictions can never bring happiness or satisfaction. Addictions are always destructive. The reason people turn to porn or other addictions is because they hate the real world and their real lives, and they desperately want to escape. But porn and other addictions only make their misery worse.

If someone is dissatisfied with the world around them, they should try to change it. They should try to make it a better world.

Porn and sex addiction are completely selfish pursuits. Porn-sex addicts think that the whole world revolves around them and that the only important thing is satisfying their immediate selfish desire. Every time they try to satisfy their desire, they fail. Because like with any addiction, they must keep seeking more and more and there is never any end or any peace of mind.

But someone who lives to help others does experience true happiness when they accomplish something.

No money in the world is worth degrading yourself in front of tons of people and being forced into commiting adultery with all the other sick porn stars. It is the most unhealthy lifestyle imaginable. Unfotunately too many people make a lot of money off it so it is not going anywhere.

I wish I didn't know this information but I think very few women make high six figures.  A friend of mine who is one of those guys who knows every porn actress' job while she was in high school, said very few of the actresses make that money.  Even if they do, why couldn't a beautiful woman make that money at a Mercedes dealership selling cars?  They could make close to the same money.  Unfortunatly, you're right about the money point.

 You right, but to just let you know, no Rabbi (real Rabbi) in the world would allow a couple to have relations if she in nidda (including if she didn't go to the mikva), and dont worry about soo called infections, its all myths. All of these women go all the time and nothing happens, and their are many Mikvot available, some normal ones and others very elegant high class ones, you future wife can can to either ones, and a Rav should direct you to the Mikvot available. (their is also a good website about the different Mikvot around the world, http://mikvah.org/ , but make sure that you date a girl who plans to keep Family Purity.

Pornography is a sick twisted immoral thing to be affiliated with and promotes unethical behavior that kills life in more ways than one.. people who view content like this should take a long hard look at themselves and figure out what needs to change because something about acts of immorality should not manifest itself into further depression that inevitably sends people into a downward spiral..
