Article 15 of NY State law basically says that real estate brokers can't employ discriminatory workers.
Anyone know of job openings? ::)
-
I don't get it, waht did you do wrong?
-
what happened?
-
His employers probably found out about his candidacy on the Loyalist Party ticket.
-
Don't let them know who you hate because in this society it will only be used againt you. Work behind the scenes against those who work against you! Keep your views in your family, your friends, and re-affirm ur views in all ur actions... But don't SAY anything to people you don't trust, the enemies goal is to destroy anyone who stands for anything (unlesss they are Islamo-fascists). If they call you out on it just say you are pro-freedom ;D.
-
What kind of work would you like to be doing for now, Vito?
-
That law doesn't contradict the constitution?
-
A sad sad day for democracy.
I thought USA was the land the free!
I wish you good luck to find a new job!!!

Well, the liberals want to make it The Land of PC. :P
I hope Vito has good luck in finding a job O0

You're getting fired for you're political views? That's bullsh*t! Discriminatory worker? You're not keeping people from looking at properties because of their race or religion.
Sue them for unlawful termination, you'll have those f***ers buy you a new house when your through collecting punative damages from them.
Hey, this is the JEWISH Task Force, lets live up to the name, IS THERE A LAWYER IN THE HOUSE!? ;D

I don't get it, waht did you do wrong?
I'm publicly anti-Islamic. My boss doesn't care, but he found out that if he is affiliated with me his license will be taken away due to anti-discrimination laws.

Tsss. That means you're a pariah in New-York if you oppose Islam?

Well, you can't be anti-anything in NY. But yes, definitely a pariah when anti-Islamic.

Shouldn't be a big deal, I just can't go into real estate.

What kind of work would you like to be doing for now, Vito?
Since I can't go into real estate, anything other than that really. I might go back to my old boss.. but it didn't pay that much. We'll see what happens.

I think you should be suing someone about this, possibly whoever made that law. Because you are being dismissed due to your political views, which is surely against the American constitution.
-
That law may be unconstitutional. Get a good constitution lawyer and see if you have a case.
If you do have a case, then the publicity of the case may give you the publicity you need to get elected.
Additionally, this may be a good time to start campaigning full time, if you can make a career as a politician you don't need this real estate job.
So yea, speak to an employment and constitution lawyer see what they say.
Or you can apologize for insulting Islam and get your job back. But that is only if you want to coward out, all though I don't think I will blame you.
Good luck with getting a job. BTW, what college degrees do you have and in what field?
-
What were you doing in your old job, Vito?
-
You have VIEWS, so what, have you discriminated, have muslims come to you to buy a house and youve said 'get away from me you smelly terrorists, I wouldnt sell you a mud hut if i was getting 100% commission'? Told the female muslim to remove her silly headscarf or you wouldnt talk to her? Forced her to shake your hand? Having VIEWS isnt against the law, I wonder how many doctors dont like black people, muslims, the Irish etc....yet they would treat them if they came in.
My views are very well known at work, however if I had to speak to a muslim I would be professional about it, I may be thinking "you smelly terrorist" but I wouldnt say it to them in a work setting.
Sounds like someone is just pressing their agenda, since when is having a discriminatory THOUGHT against the law here, well at least it isnt YET >:(

The Bolshevic anti-discrimination laws have a strong hold in NY. I would have to sue the system..

Kellymaureen is on the right track.
Vito, you must get legal advice as to what the exact legal interpretation of "discriminatory workers" means.
In my opinion, that would refer to activly discriminating against people based on race, religion, etnicity etc.
Australia has very strict anti-discrimination laws, yet nobody can be sacked because of their personal/political views.
For example: A health worker in a public hospital may be a member of the White Nationalist Movement. But unless he starts wearing swastikas, calling patients 'coons' or telling immigrants to 'go home', he cannot be sacked. Provided he does not act on his beliefs in the workplace there are no problems.
I would suggest that the terms of the law you are being sacked because of would place similar conditions on you and your employer. Unless you have ACTIVELY discriminated agains muSSlims or promoted your views in an obtrusive manner I don't think your employer is breaching the law by hiring you.
Please seek sound legal advice before accepting what could be a gross injustice.

My discriminatory views are public and politically motivated. An Equal Opportunity broker is not allowed to be affiliated with a discriminatory public figure, regardless of whether he has discriminated against clients or not. He would lose his personal license and broker license for it.

They aren't discriminatory views anyway. Unless being opposed to someone who wants to kill you is considered discriminatory.

Vito - you are a cool guy but where are your brains ?
I hate Arabs and Muslim/Nazi pigs with a passion but no one knows that. Just my family and one of my closest friends. You should never, ever talk about heavy subjects at work ! Leave all the debating for JTF.

They found out because of he's publically running for office, not because he ran his mouth.

You could try and play up the fact that you've lost your job in your campaign.

My discriminatory views are public and politically motivated. An Equal Opportunity broker is not allowed to be affiliated with a discriminatory public figure, regardless of whether he has discriminated against clients or not. He would lose his personal license and broker license for it.
Then that needs to go to the supreme court. Under those conditions, a practicing christian could lose his job because his religion opposes gay marriage!
We need a right-wing ACLU-type organisation.

Yes, we do. I don't know what the organisation would be named to differentiate between the two, perhaps replacing the current people in the ACLU now.

You can believe whatever you want - I could be a Nazi if I want to in private, but when it reaches public eye and political motive the rules change. Because I am anti-Islamic, I am not following Equal Opportunity regulations.

That means that a christian minister or Orthodox Jewish Rabbi cannot work in Real Estate because they have publicly sermonised against gay marriage.
Like I said.........big supreme court case comming up one of these days.

I would assume that being anti-gay and anti-gay marriage are two different things. That would be like saying I'm against Muslims wearing a burka for an I.D photo instead of anti-Islamic.. big difference.
-
Hey Vito. Really sorry to here about this.
We all know this is complete B.S. This is the problem with Islam being categorized as a 'Religion'. Someone who has strong views against Naziism or Communism wouldn't be fired and rightly so.

Christian ministers and Jewish Rabbis are opposed to gays....period.
It's definitely a greasy pole the PC brigade is on here.
Have you opposed muSSlims' right to live or just opposed further muSSlim immigration etc?

The Loyalist platform does oppose further Muslim immigration..
-
I think it is more of the speeches he has made and the political party that supports him that made his view on Islam publically known.
I didn't even tell him about it.. somebody he knows came into the office with the paper and said "Do you know this guy?!"
I am with you. That is wrong You can do whatever you want outside of work. If you don't bring your political views to work what the hell is the problem? Sounds like unfair dismissal to me.
-
Vito, I am sorry you lost your job, but this might actually work in your favor in regards to getting elected. You can now say you personally have suffered because of the laws which favor Americas enemies over her citizens. Its a great selling point, as everyone fears losing their job, and now people can lose their job for thought crimes.
-
I'm sorry for loosing your job, Vito!
kahaneloyalist make a fine point though, you can definitely use this incident as a focal point in exposing the double standard when it comes to speaking up for YOUR country and AGAINST the musslim enemy. Don't let this get you down from your pursuit of the Goal!
-

Vito,
You should do what kahaneloyalist said. Take advantage of your firing. Sadly, real estate is a highly regulated business when it comes to discrimination. You had to know this was a possibility. Good luck.
-
Vito, I am amazed at how resigned you are to this. Surely this is not constitutional.
I am positive that somewhere a lawyer would even take this up for free.

As Baltimore said, discriminatory laws in real estate are VERY stringent. It's almost better that I'm fired.. I can definitely use it as a tool in my campaign O0
I just want to make sure that I can't be sued for my views.. is that possible?
-
why is real estate so regulated in NYC??
-
I smell a rat here. Have you ever seen the law in print? This broker could spout off any drivel he likes. I would think that it would be a problem if you did not follow the non discrimination rules while doing your job. It is possible for you to do your job as needed and still have a personal opinion. Its true you can't force the broker to keep you on however I really am interested if the law really reads as he says it does. If what he says is the truth we are all really in a world of trouble.
-
Vito, this attitude of yours is detestable. Unless it can be demostrated that you DO discriminate or HAVE discriminated, I predict that these laws can be tossed faster than Britney Spears' panties.
You will not succeed, either in the workforce or in your campaign, with this attitude.
-

Think for a minute what would happen under the constitution if someone tried to sue you for your political views, also think, if they did, it would give you a great platform to demonstrate the facts behind them.
-
You can nominally be sued for almost anything but if its obviously absurd it will be thrown out quickly, you can also say anything shy of telling people to commit a crime. Though you should known that the Muzzies like to sue their opponents as a means of intimidation and the Saudis often pay for such actions.
-
Everyone has rights except for decent people in today's America.
-
Sue them vito! Take on the system. Even if you loose it will be a great way to gain attention and promote our cause! I'm sure you could find a right-wing lawyer to work on your case for free. And if you get your case in the paper i'm sure they'll be lining up to defend you. Remember when that student at Pace got charged with a hate crime for flushing the koran down the toilet? As soon as he was in the paper all of a sudden lawyers couldn't wait to support him pro-bono.
-
I'd be willing to bet they wouldnt fire a muslim agent who was recorded standing on a street corner screaming death to infidels, Jews, Israel and America....they would be too scared to fire him law or no law ;)
Oh and Im terribly sorry that this is happening to you :(
-
Thats rough, but a price we pay for standing up for your rights.
-
Screw 'em. There's got to be one good American who will hire you, Vito.
-
Screw 'em. There's got to be one good American who will hire you, Vito.
yes, there has to mean. All the best luck ;) O0
-
This is amazing BS! This can be beneficial in the long run, especially political, but this cannot be taken matter of factly, by Vito, or anyone on his side. If things are done right the publicity from this can not only catapult Vito into office but also raise up even more Loyalist candidates.
First, interesting fact, Vito's opponent, Ann Margaret Carrozza, has as her biggest donors, Realators associations. Coincidence?
Also, she is a lawyer.
Less than a week after he hits a local newspaper, this happens. Again, coincidence?
EEO rules can get you into trouble for discrimination if you are responsible for the actual hiring, firing and or promoting of workers. Then there must be proof of this on an individual case by case basis.
Are there separate laws pertinent just to real estate?
Here is what should be done.
First, we must all search for a conservative lawyer who will take this case pro bono. Sue your boss and the main organization/association, etc. that has this discriminatory law.
Next, we need to hold a rally outside of this office, or outside of the headquarters of the organization that has this ridiculous rule.
Everyone in Queens or all NYC, write letters to the editor about this nonsense.
We need to organize a fundraiser for Vito, not just for his candidacy, but also for the purpose of letting it be publicly known that we are raising funds for an American that lost his job for speaking up against islam.
This cannot go unchallenged, if it does we all lose.
No doubt about this though, political operatives are already at work here. Vito is a threat because he says what most people believe but are afaid to say. This is why people are afraid, because of things just as this. This must be answered and be answered loudly and clearly.
-
Reading about what has happened to you, Vito, sends a shiver down my spine.
Do we still live in America...I'm not sure. :o
I think Firster555 is right.
You struck a nerve - with someone or some group - and they are taking action to neutralize you. They must fear you and your message O0
I'm really sorry that you had to loose your job for taking a stand. :(
As my Dad always says - Every knock is a boost.
I hope you find a better job and can make the most of this unfair incident to further your candidacy.
