Donald Trump is scheduled to meet Thursday with African-American and Hispanic activists as part of the Republican Leadership Initiative in New York that trains diverse recruits to be field operatives, according to news reports.

The initiative is based in Queens, N.Y., and the meeting will be held at Trump Tower in Manhattan, Yahoo News reports.

“This is part of his Hispanic outreach — and I think he wanted to explain where he is and why he is a benefit to the Hispanic community,” former New York Rep. Bob Turner, now chairman of the Queens County Republican Party, told Yahoo.

He is helping to organize the event. Other GOP sources confirmed the meeting, while the Trump campaign declined to comment to Yahoo.
